She was so boring and not very approachable and gave very unrealistically timed exams and wayyyyy to much homework and quizzes with information we barely covered.

Super simple class and clear grading. She does not come across as the most friendly, however and that makes approaching her hard for some people. She is helpful once you reach out, however. Great concise feedback.

Average proffesor, I thought the lectures were pretty boring and it's definitely not an easy A, but she knows her stuff and has been teaching for a while so it's not like she's incompetent.

She has been by far, the WORST professor I've had at UNH. She is SO old fashioned with her grading. Her and her lectures are SO boring and very unorganized. Her tests are VERY hard, I study hard and am a straight A student, and I got a B in her class (was expecting a lower grade). DO NOT TAKE UNLESS IT IS A REQUIREMENT FOR YOUR MAJOR!!

Professor Hrabak is such a passionate and caring professor. She explains the material very well and has very planned out powerpoint slides which is so nice! The homework and quizzes help you to prepare well for the exams. The class is pretty difficult but if you set aside the time to study you will do great since she also provides extra credit!

I really enjoyed this class and the instructor. Not easy, but the homework & quizzes really helped to prepare for the exams. She also had worksheets to complete in class which helps. She drops some quizzes and homework grades and turns them into extra credit, so do everything and it can bump your grade! She is really passionate too, which helps.

Dr. Hrabak was a good professor and you can tell she is really passionate about genetics. The tests are pretty similar to the homework making it easier to study, and there is extra credit. Don't buy the textbook for GEN604, everything you need for the exams will be covered in her lectures which she records and posts!

One of the worst professors I had. She could present the information a lot more clearly and students wouldn't have to struggle as much as they did in this 'easy' class. She is not helpful in office hours either. Went to them a couple of times only to come out more confused. Wouldn't recommend.

Overall an average class. She seemed to know her stuff and lectures moved at a good pace. Did not post grades ever and her grading criteria was all over the place, so I had no idea where I stood before the final exam. Homework was hard and you didn't really get much help for it. Exams were fair.

She makes it very hard to study for exams. Although the actual content of this class inst necessarily challenging to learn, she presents it very ineffectively and rarely writes notes on her slides. She also doesn't hold review or upload blank copies of things to study. Overall, this course is very unpredictable and hard to study for.

She told us she hasn't taught this class since 2003- it shows. Don't take this class with her, she makes the class extremely difficult for an introductory course. Is unclear on what is expected, and her office hours are extremely unhelpful. Very passionate about what she teaches, but she needs to learn HOW to teach first.

Very passionate about what she teaches. Unfortunately she is very unapproachable and uncaring if you go to her for extra help. Her tests are extremely difficult, but going to her for clarification won't be helpful.

The worst professor I have ever encountered. She requires you to mold yourself exactly as she wants you to write or think. Extremely specific criteria she sets you'll have to abide by or fail. Judgemental and discriminates blatantly, will make you feel inadequate and less capable than you are. Single handedly ruined my experience at UNH D+ by .3pt

For a strictly lab class 7hrsweek: not bad at all! The lecture portion can be dull, but you are usually busy for the entire time you are there. You need to read the manual before class to make sure you understand what's being done. Huge application of most everything from GEN604 - make sure you understand EVERYTHING and details!

Estelle is a fantastic professor. She doesn't try to trip you up, she's very clear in her lectures, and she's funny. If you put effort and time into learning the lecture material: you will do fine. But you have to KNOW the material well - her exams are a thorough assessment of how well you understand the material.

Dr. Hrabak is an excellent teacher. She really takes the time to to thoroughly explain every detail of the topic. You will leave this course was a great understanding of many techniques in molecular biology and why they work. She is always willing to help out both inside and outside of the classroom. One of the best class I have ever taken.

One of those professors who simply cannot teach undergrads. This was a HARD class; there were 3 GRADUATE students taking the course along with the rest of us. There should have been a textbook for this class! I read everything I could on the topics she covered so I wouldn't be lost in class. She expects a lot from you, but doesn't help you?!

Dr. Hrabak, understands her topics incredibly well, and at least in a small sized class is very thorough. She is enthusiastic and inspiring. She makes you do your work, but that's what good professors do. After taking her class, it feels like I would be able to tackle a job scenario relating to the topics in class without a problem.

She is not an easy teacher, but she is really thorough and makes you learn the material. A really good professor; will help you if you ask for it. You can get an A, but if you want an easy A...find another professor.
