Take Bev for Civ Arts! Wished we had more music, but still very interesting. She is funny and very kind and understands most people don't have an art/music background. No outside work (except 1 paper/studying), tests reasonable. Can be a little too subjective on grading open-ended but it's still easy. Pay modest attention in class & you'll be fine.

She's definitely the best for Civ Arts out of them all. One paper and then midterm/final. SO you better study for those! She prints out packets for every student to take notes on which is really helpful since she already has everything organized and in order

Comment:
Took during intersession because everyone said to and honestly was a big mistake. The only grades you have are the exams which are ridiculous. Not to mention she claims the final isn't cumulative and then uses material from the first half of the course for the 20 point essay question!! Don't take.

Favorite class this year. She loves the students and loves the subject she teaches. Harsh grading is not in her vocabulary. I expected it to be tougher because art isn't my forte, but she keeps us engaged by telling stories of her travels. Study a bit and you'll pass. If you want to ace, study for a couple more hours. Beware of comparisons on tests

Dr. Carter is a little longwinded (she uses 10 words when she could use 3), and her tests are surprisingly difficult, but overall, she is a great professor for Civ Arts. She loves what she teaches and it shows.

CivArts over intersession. EASIEST CLASS EVER. She's very pleasant and straightforward. Exactly what you need to know. If you take good notes in class, you don't have to study much outside of class. Makes a dull subject more interesting. EASY tests.

She teaches you exactly what you need to know and then tests you on it. The material is interesting and she knows the material and teaches it well. She is always in a good mood and her random tangents are funny. Tests arent bad if you do even a little studying. Take her!

A brilliant teacher. She knows her subject and loves it too, which makes it fun. She is peppy and smart. All of you pinhead engineering, math and chemistry majors need your horizons broadened from the realm of worthless numbers and equations. Music and the arts are what make us human. To people who can't manage to stay awake, good luck with a job..

Amazing teacher. Truly cares about her students. Tough but that is something you will value especially after you have graduated and entered the real world. Lecture can be boring at times simply due to the insane amounts of info you have to learn. Easily my favorite professor at the Grove. Great musician and great teacher!

Dr. Carter is wonderful! She's kind, friendly, helpful, and really cares about her students and wants to make sure they learn the material. I had her in Civ/Arts. She's moderately easy on papers, although her tests can be tough. Not much textbook use, so you have to go to class. Highly recommended.

she's in a bad mood every day, stressed-out, holds a grudge against anyone who is late to class more than once, takes attendance promptly at 7:59am, and marks anyone who walks in 30 seconds later as being late! a little spastic, especially for 8am, she gets pissed when we don't 'look awake', and plays the musical examples way too loud on purpose

Dr. Carter is definatley one of the best professors at Grove City College. Her peppiness at 8 am forces me to enjoy the class as well as theesubject she teaches. I look forward to every class and hope that anyone who takes her class shows up to every class... or else...

She's very clear in class. She is repetitive, but it really cuts back on how much studying you need to do for the tests. Enjoyable to listen to and energetic.

Far easier than Drake or Munsen, but still informative and enjoyable. Understands that this is a core class and not a huge priority. Demands respect but does not assign much homework, tests are very managable. I'd take her again!
