I count myself fortunate to have taken Bib Rev with Dr. Thrasher. He is a genuine person who is passionate about his subject. There are only two tests, which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. He even has outlines for his lectures. Word to the wise, vocab will make or break your grade in this class.

Dr Thrasher is amazing! I highly recommend his Intro to Sports Ministry class, especially if you love sports. He cares about his students, helps you grow as a Christian athlete, isn't unreasonable in his assignments, and is a fair grader. NOTE: He didn't give us any quizzes (which was nice), and the textbooks, while beneficial, weren't really used.

I really enjoyed my HUMA102 class. It may be a graduation requirement, but it's still very insightful and interesting. Thrasher doesn't believe in pop quizzes, only weekly biblical outlines that are way more helpful in biblical comprehension than a quiz could ever be. Genuinely a nice guy. If you must take a 8 or 9 am, pick this! Very worth while

I really like Dr. Thrasher, I had him for both HUMA 102 & 201 - he's a wise man who knows a lot about the Bible. He strongly supports a Biblical WV, asks profound questions that challenge what you think & cause you to think on a deeper level. He is a fair grader on his papers. Loves Turabian. Midterm and finals are essays with challenging matching

Content covered in lectures is what is on testsfinal exam. Pay attention to GreekLatin key words, they are on tests, overall enjoyed the class. It was a good overview of the Bible, he did not have any earth-shattering new ideas which was nice. Very conservative interpretation of the Bible.

This class was not hard, but also not very rewarding. He doesn't respect the fact that people might have differing opinions on Biblical interpretation. When he does point out another viewpoint-he doesn't give it a fair evaluation-and then he proceeds to tell you the "correct" (his) view. It is nice that he doesn't do quizzes though!

Loved this class. Not hard at all. Weekly outlines of the Bible reading take some time but aren't hard. Tests are mostly essay. Thrasher is a Godly man with incredible conviction. I really appreciate his literal interpretation of the Bible and I learned so much in this class. Would definitely take one of his classes again.

Every class goes back to his family somehow. Always has stories which are interesting but then he tells us how everything in his life is perfect now. Tests are stupid. Very subjective. Not necessarily hard though. Very haughty.

Comment:
He seems to grade tests and papers very subjectively. If he personally agrees with what you write, you get more points. Also, the objective parts of tests were fairly ridiculous. Know all of his lecture points! Aside from that, his class was pretty awkward. You learn a lot... about things you probably learned from conversations in locker rooms.

Although I don't consider myself a Calvinist by any means, he is a good prof. Lectures are interesting and he revealed a lot about the Bible and worldviews. His tests though... try to find as many random Greek words as possible for the matching section, and for papers, make sure to match Turabian citations to the character...

Talks non-stop about his family. Pretends to respect your opinion, but then repeats his as correct. Entire class is redundant - material could be covered in the first 3 weeks and you'd be good. Try to not hate him and his beyond reasonable arrogance and you might actually enjoy class...

Good lecturer, but that's it. His tests are almost completely essays which means 60% of your grade is subjective. The other part of his exams is word matching where he doesn't even give you the option of the definition he gave in lecture on some of them, so you dont have a clue for at least 25% of them even if you have the notes memorized.

Great prof! Took for a night class and greatly enjoyed. Bring a computer though - he talks too fast to handwrite the notes. Also, consider recording the lectures on your computer and listening to them again to study. Great prof, fair tests - know what different words mean in their Hebrew or Greek. Take him if possible!

Thrasher is an opinion pusher. Unless you are extremely conservative and interpret the Bible literally, he will annoy the crap out of you. Also v. arrogant.

He is da man--A good strong, wise, experienced Calvinist Christian prof who really knows how to teach and has a perfect, complete worldview. And he lets you know how great he is. Also never stops talking about his kids...or at least his one favorite son, Caleb. Take this class cuz there isn't much testing, it isn't bad.
