Dr. Dingman was my favorite professor in my short time at Marist College. Her brilliance in Psychopharmacology, Psychobiological Sex Differences, and general education makes her an excellent candidate to teach at a very high level. Students who wish to take their studies seriously will not only succeed in her classes but will prosper. OFFICE HOURS!

Comment:
Dr. Dingman is engaging and well-educated. She engages with her students each and every class, teaching them how to think critically about sensitive topics, as opposed to avoiding them due to their sensitivity. Some students may believe Dr. Dingman is insensitive or even offensive, those students don't understand the validity of the subject matter.

Dr. Dingman is an excellent instructor who has instills robust critical thinking skills into her pedagogical approach towards teaching Biopsychology and Capping. She epitomizes impartiality and teaches students how to think as oppose to what to think which reaffirms her unique disposition as an academically rigorous instructor.

Only 4 grades for the entire course (2 tests, journal, book review). Forces her views into her lectures. I found it extremely difficult to get past her (often offensive) comments. Very controversial topics are not open to debate/conversation. Lectures are literally just her reading off powerpoint slides that are posted on iLearn.

Do everything you can to avoid taking Dr. Dingman. She is horribly offensive and insensitive to students. Doesn't prepare for class and won't learn your name. Clearly a very smart woman but not a good teacher... anything I learned I taught myself. TA grades nearly everything and she doesn't keep a gradebook. Take another professor!!

Stay away from Dr. Dingman. Very nice lady, but extremely unorganized. Her grading is everywhere. Only gave us one grade during the semester. She does not know anyones name. Thought we all had As. We all got slapped with Bs. We had no idea what our grades were throughout semester b/c we never got anything back and no feedback on anything. STAY AWAY

A controversial professor with an unconventional approach to teaching. My survey of the class was that; you either liked her or you could not stand her. She is a great proponent self-teaching, so if any of you are thinking about a Ph.D's programs she is a great mentor. She is someone who is not easily defined, approach with an open mind

Dr. Dingman's psychopharm class consists of one paper,a group book report, & a video project all due at the end of the semester, and three exams which she gives you the answers to during the class prior. Do your lab manual (also due at the end) and you will get an A. She may seem wacky at first but she is truly a dedicated and intelligent teacher

I'm someone who does the bare minimum, but I still got an A. 2 tests and she literally goes through the whole test and gives you the answers the class before. It's easy to get 100 on both. 1 essay due at the end of the semester worth 10% of your grade. Doesnt care if you go to lab, and you dont really use your textbook. Interesting class overall.

I had her for NeuroPsych..got an A...though I do not know how. She never gives papers back because she collects them the last day of class, so you never get any feedback. She doesn't really like having class discussions, she just likes talking AT the class and expects everyone to believe her conspiracy theories.which have validity but shes intense.

Dr. Dingman is a very smart, interesting, and funny woman. As a teacher, she reads off of notes and uses huge words that are impossible to write down and she barely ever repeats herself. She barely writes on the board. She makes it seem like you will get a good grade, but is very vague with what she wants, so you end up getting lower grade.

Wow, what do I say? She lulls you into thinking this class will be an easy A, since there is only 1 legit paper and that's the final. She never takes attendance either. I expected an A and when I checked my grade it was a B. I was totally shocked. Apparently the paper is like 99% of your grade and she grades VERY VERY hard. That is ridiculous.

As long as you pay attention in class you should be able to do fine. Also, it helps to see Prof. Dingman after class if you have any questions, she is always willing to help, you just need to take the initiative.

HARD CLASS. I studied for about 4 hours and failed. What she says will be on the test wasn't. Doesn't take attendance and your research paper is due at the end of the semester. Don't have to go to the lab period, which was nice. She's a smart woman, but not the best professor. If you have a lot of knowledge/interest on practical info, its for you.

very very smart lady, but CANNOT teach.... just talks about random things during class, and then you basically have to teach yourself how the brain develops and it works, etc. dont take her unless you can learn by yourself without help from a teacher. very smart funny and nice though.
