Lectures can be interesting but notes are based off what she says in the lecture so make sure to pay attention. Tests are really hard also. Take them in groups

Comment:
The class is taught in lecture form and they are very long, dry, and boring. Her tests are very unrelated to the lectures which makes it very tempting to skip class a lot. The tests are very difficult. Worded difficultly and do not pertain to the study guide at all. I would recommend taking a different teacher.

Lectures are somewhat interesting, but she usually doesn't make it through the day's agenda by the end of class. That leads to us having to read the textbook to know those subjects for exams. Tests are multiple choice only, and a page of notes are allowed. I dont think i learned that much from this class.

Super interesting class! If you have already taken a class in either statistics, physiology, or psych then that would help you a lot. Personally found it easy and Lynch to be pretty funny

Lynch was a decent prof, the material was dense because Gen Psych is so broad and is hard to fit into a single semester. Her lectures can get boring, especially early in the morning and its very tempting to skip. Her tests are worded very tricky, she really makes you work for it. Im a psych major and I was so bored and didn't do great on the tests.

Her tests are tough. Her lectures are based on her notes, and doesn't write many notes, so make sure you pay more attention to what she says and READ THE BOOK. The textbook will be the only thing that can help you. Go to tutoring, that is also very helpful. 3 essays, 3 tests, one final.

I wouldn't recommend this as a GE. The tests are unusually difficult, which may be because this is a major class for psych majors. That said, I did learn quite a lot; I just wish I bought the text, since the tests are more rooted in the text than in her lectures. Read the text -religiously-, attend lecture, and do the RER and you should be fine.

Everyone complaining must not have shown up. I never even bought looked at the text book, but I showed up to class every single day, went over the study guide for the test, did the RER and got an A. She goes over everything and connects it well. If you cant get a question answered she's available in office hours and google helps too.

Lynch' lectures were very interesting. Some of her test questions are based of her lectures! Be sure to read the book. Her tests are fairly difficult but if you study, you will get a good grade. Most of her questions are based off of examples so they will make you think. You will get a good grade on the research project if you follow the guideline!

It was really difficult to get an A. Her tests do follow the study guide a bit, but in order to receive a high grade you should definitely purchase the textbook and read ahead of time. If you manage your time well and follow all the guidelines, you will definitely pass. The RER is straight forward, so follow every single instruction. It was fun.

READ THE BOOK! I can not emphasize this enough. Her lectures are pretty vague, so reading the book is a big help with learning concepts. Also, don't wait last minute to study and do your RER! There's no homework, so tests do matter. I wish I went to her tutoring sessions- take advantage of them. Hard class, but you need to put in the work to pass.

Here's the deal: Dr. Lynch knows her stuff. This is a tough class. You do have to put effort into getting a good grade. All I wanted was a B- and I did get it. I went to class maybe 30% of the time, but I read the book. READ THE BOOK. Trust me. Take online practice quizzes. Show up for the tests, don't be lazy, and do the RER. You'll be fine.

Attendance isn't mandatory, however there are a few questions on the exams based off activities films shown in lecture. Her study guides don't guarantee you a good grade on the exams. In order to get a good grade on the exam you must READ THE TEXTBOOK, and if you need extra help the she has grad. students open for tutoring.

Worst teacher ever, her tests and study guides are practically two different things. And lecture notes do not help at all, its like impossible to get a good grade in this class, she also failed me on my RER and it was so late in the semester that I couldn't even ask her what was wrong with it, like literally a day before the semester was over!

I was a junior when I took this class and it was still the hardest class i took for no reason. Exam's are ridiculous and even with a cheat sheet It's like she wants to fail you. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you don't show up good luck on the exams!

Lectures were way too long. If you didn't go to class and takes notes, you'd miss a portion on the test. Her tests were basically based off everything that she said in class. If you're able to get a different psych class, I'd recommend getting another class!

Lynch is a tough professor, her tests are definitely not easy. Always study for the tests in advance and she always posts the study guide. Be sure to actually read the book because sometimes the tests have questions not covered on the study guide. Overall very interesting course and if you study you should do well :)
