His news writing class was absolutely amazing. Joe is a one of a kind teacher. He grades fairly easy and provides great feedback on your papers. You can see how much he cares about his students. A lot of students struggle in 201 but you won't with Joe. Hands down an amazing teacher 10/10.

Very awesome guy! I had him for ethics and I thought it would be textbook heavy. But he was very much for us developing our own ethical decisions based on several models of decision thinking. Super sweet guy and often used his own experiences in journalism (ex: choosing what to post right after 9/11) which I thought was helpful

Joe is great. Since it is a Cronkite class you are only able to miss 2 classes but it won't break your grade. All JMC 201 classes have the same syllabus so there is "work" but Joe will make it easy. If you have to take this, which you will as a Cronkite student, take it with Joe. Also, he brings donuts the last day and we got to interview Arpaio.

Joe is one of the most laid-back professors I've had. I took his 8 am class and he was just as tired as we all were so he didn't make class painful! He is a tough grader expect to get multiple auto E's in a semester, but he always gives good feedback. Definitely take advantage of class time and ask him questions and ask if he can review your work.

Professor Garcia was great. Fair grader, relaxed classroom. Cares about students and wants to make sure you learn the material. Very laid-back, approachable and a cool guy. He threw us a pizza party for the last day of class.

I loved Professor Garcia. He wants every student to learn the material and wants everyone to do good. You will get an E if you misspell someone's name. The Stylebook is needed and you should bring it to every class.

If you just do the assignments, you will pass. He did everything he could to help us, including dropping some of our worst stories and quizzes. Buy/rent an AP stylebook and bring it to class! You will use it at least once a week

Joe is amazing! He makes good use of his years of news writing experience by simulating news conferences and giving real-world deadlines. We also got a chance to interview Sheriff Joe Arpaio, as well as cover other stories and people relevant to what's going on in the world. Very personable and funny too!

This class is fun but challenging. He gives a very realistic insight into what the business is like and is a tough grader. He is also funny and great at tailoring his lessons to each individual class. I would recommend Joe a million times.

Knows the basics of journalism and helped hammer in AP Style and tips from personal experience. Brought in Sheriff Joe to interview for our final, which was great. Didn't follow the syllabus at all--the textbook is awesome but he never uses it. He's a nice, helpful guy but is a tough grader. Has good advice for improving articles.
