I took Prof. Trapp back in Winter quarter 2019 for Math 211 (Calculus 1) and I'm glad to see that he's still getting solid ratings and feedback on this website. This class ran smoothly, we had a weekly quiz (drops the lowest 2), 2 midterms, and an online final (due to COVID getting bad in the state). Take him if you can, he's a solid instructor.

I took Professor Trapp for math 345 and it was a hard class but he got me through it. I struggled with the material and he gave notes on all of my homework, quizzes, and tests on how I could improve. He does his best to get you to pass while still learning the material. Hes funny and cool to talk to while still giving great lectures.

He curved our midterms very nicely. Allowed people to get points back by taking extra quizzes. Homework and study guides are just like the tests. Very clear and simple. He explains everything well, especially for 251, allowing you to understand 3D better. Best prof for 251. He is also super approachable and sweet. Always willing to help.

He is a great professor, he really knows the material he covers. Some topics are really long, but he goes over examples to make it easier to practice. Six quizzes, two midterms and one final. Homework is optional but some test questions may be material that was only covered in homework or not covered in detail, so homework is strongly advised.

Midterm 1 and 2 is easy. Study the practice exams, usually posted a week before- then you'll do great. On the final be ready to study a lot, some material wasn't covered in depth in class yet you are expected to know because of HW assigned. Quizzes are every Wednesday- decent. Time and Effort is required to get a B or an A.

Top caliber professor. Best explanations, testing and edutainment I have received to this date. Cal State needs to look into Trapp's teaching style because the rest of profs can learn a thing or two. Money well spent.

He's an amazing teacher. He'll go slow if the class doesn't understand. Attendance doesn't really matter but make sure you're there on Wednesdays for the quizzes and to turn in the homework. He assigns homework over a week period, it's assigned Friday and he'll collect it on Wednesday. As long as you put in the work, you'll pass with a good grade.

Attendance doesn't matter. There is a quiz every week. But he words the question on test and quizes different. Homework was collected. Pay good attention in class, this isn't an easy "A" class but it's doable.

Easily the best Math professor at CSUSB. His lectures are clear and he's always willing to help if you have any problems. No homework or mandatory attendance, however, if you want to learn the material, you should show up. The only hard part of the class was his final, although he did add 15 extra credit points. Would take again!

He is a great professor. He does not go fast like some instructors do. He waits to see if the class understands and then moves on. I wish He could also teach 213, but I am thankful that I was able to be in his class. IF you do the homework and review the notes you should be fine.

Great and enjoyable professor with an ability to make the class interesting and educational all together. He really cares about the students and is willing to help you out with the material. Relaxed and lenient grader when it comes to grading quizzes and tests. Does give out homework, but it's not collected for points. Would take again soon.

He's extremely well-prepared during his lectures, I never dreaded going to class as he was a pretty funny guy. He's very clear, he outlines what you need to know for the test. There's usually one surprise/confusing question on the exam that makes you use one or more concepts/theorems studied in class. Overall, a great professor.

Pros: Extremely well prepared lectures, Lenient grader, Reasonable pace, sense of humor. Cons: Homework 20% of grade, Less computation and more conceptual examinations, won't give too much detail for homework problems. Overall: Would Recommend, but don't take if you have two other math classes.

Prof Trapp is an amazing Prof. He's clear, keeps things to the point and easy. I liked his class because it was slow and smooth. He is an extremely lenient grader. He jokes around in class a lot of the times and does that so people can be interested in the lecture. Accessibility can be an issue at times.
