she takes attendence but thats the only reason to go to class really. talk in discussion and do the assignments. definitely ask your TA questions because she doesn't really helpl at all. easy B but you really have to work for an A

Terrible. I hated going to this class. You learn absolutely nothing in the class but yet classes are mandatory. She shows you a bunch of pictures and your expected to learn from that. She makes you feel dumb if you try answering a question and get it wrong. She's definitely NOT afraid to call you out either. Still can't believe how terrible it was

You do not need to purchase any books for this class. All work can be done using the internet. There are no exams, thus nothing to study. Keep up on your sakai work, you only have one assignment due a week.

Not your typical history class. There are no exams so there is no need to pay attention or take notes in the lectures. The Weekly assignments are posted to sakai or brought to discussion section. You will get a B on almost everything you do because they seem to make up grades off the top of their heads. The TA was great. I got an A- in the course.

Easy B. I learned nothing new from the class. Its another english course where you just study primary sources. The lectures are boring and not interesting. I am minoring in history and found this class to be painful. A's are hard to come by. There is no textbook to study historical events just books of memoirs.

This class is pretty easy. You have about 45 minutes of work a week and don't actually have to do any of the readings to do pretty well. Do not expect to get an A. The class is a relatively easy B, just do the work. The TA (Appelhans) was really knowledgable and a really good guy. Take this class for an easy B and an interesting breadth requirement

Prior to taking this class, I loved american history...but this class was NOT history at all. It was primary source analysis 101. And the TA was terrrible!

Strasser doesnt believe in history textbooks because she thinks the info in them is all wrong, so, she changes historical events to what she thinks is "correct". And EVERY assignment is to analyze a historical document, which we never learn to do properly, so forget getting anything above a C. also the TA is unfair in grading! and hes a supernerd!

Don't be fooled; you're actually taking Historical Document Analyzation. If you want to look at Great Chicago Fire docs for three weeks and then jump 20 years, go ahead. The scope of this course is the size of a pin point. TA is unforgiving; his expectation of indepth analyzation is practically unreachable. Recommend if you don't like real history.

My favorite class at Udel by far! Great with only 2 quizzes for the whole semester and the weekly assignments are pretty easy if you give them some thought. I really loved her as a teacher and as long as she knows you put in effort than you will get an easy A!

She is honestly one of the most interesting people I have ever met. Her classroom discussions are exciting and if you go to class and make an effort to get to know her, you will do well. However, one criticism of her is that her grading scale is not concrete. Just make an effort and youll be fine.

overall easy class. attendance is mandatory and there is one assignment each week. they are a bit tedious but it beats having tests, just 2 open book m.c. quizzes on sakai. take her discussion section bc getting to know her will probably give you an edge, at least it helped me. no confusion that comes with having TAs and confusion with directions

Also thought this class would be awesome (no tests). Not at all, she pretty much invents her own grading scale which seems to change daily. in the end I think she picks grades out of a hat. Also, I never took a history course that didn't teach WWI or WWII? wtf

Thought this class would be easy with no exams and just assignments. WRONG... the grading scale is whack. Grades assignments hard as well. Historical simulations are the most boring things, and if your not into it, you pretty much get a poor grade.

Great Professor, would definitely recommend taking her. Her teaching style in interesting and easy to understand. This is not a very difficult course, and there are no exams. Put in a few hours each week and you will get a lot from this course if you enjoy history.

She's a fair grader but the assignments are SO tedious. No exams, but class attendance is mandatory. Nothing she says in class is pertinent to the graded assignments with 1 or 2 exceptions. Take her class if you like doing small assignments every week as opposed to an exam or 2.

Ok, there are a bunch of books you buy but you dont have to do the readings. You have to go to class but you dont have to take notes, or even pay attention. Each week you post online or act out a historical character in discussion. There are only 2 quizes and theyre online. Boring, but an easy A.

I was really interested in the way she taught the history. She taught the side that we never learned before. I had her for my discussion section too. It helps to talk to her. You need to attend every class but don't need to take notes, the final is a paper where you analyze a document and a photograph. The photograph analyzation was interesting.
