Better hope you dont go through a difficult life-altering event because instead of making life easier, she makes it worse. Studying isnt the only thing that determines success in this class, it also depends on if she wants to be fair or not. You can do good in her class and have a horrible experience don't let the good reviews fool you.

I dont understand how she is a professor! She is not understanding and the hardest professor Ive ever had! I got all As this semester in all my other class but received an F in her class! The workload is like no other I do not recommend to anyone! You will not have free time and your anxiety will go through the roof! She is horrible! Never take!

Most of the people on here just didn't study for the final and are venting about it on here. This is the hardest class I have ever taken, but Dr. Sandberg provides great video lectures, slides, and a plethora of practice problems before each exam. Once you get used to the high workload and practice a lot, you will learn a ton and do just fine.

BY FAR the least accommodating prof during Covid than any other profs. your grade is dependent on your test grades. she is condescending, rude, and not helpful. I learned more through crash course than with her lectures. she didn't even have office hours during finals week (or in general really). AVOID AT ALL COSTS. 3 credit hours, more like 7.

This class is a full time job and I would not recommend taking other hard classes simultaneously. She doesn't allow the TA's to say whether your answer is right or not, so asking questions hardly helps. If you don't have a verified excused absence (paperwork and all), you won't get any grace. Her tests are ridiculous and she tries to trick you.

You have to actually die to get an excused absence. Classes are long and stressful, and so are the out of class assignments. Very rude and discouraging to students who don't understand material as well. Someone in our class had the death of a parent and she gave them 2 extra days to take the exam.

She is horrible. She barely actually teaches, her tests are difficult to the point of cruelty, and your saving grace in the class is HW and classwork which is littered with trick questions and the HW she regularly asks questions about subjects she didn't teach before actually teaching them to you and saying "Here's why you got that wrong."

Dr. Sandberg was one of my best and worst professors. I believe I did learn a good bit or organic chemistry and think her methods of explanation are good. But she is possibly the most unaccommodating professors I have ever had. HW questions are meant to trick you. You'll never get excused from class or get an extension unless you are literally dead

Sandberg is one of the most difficult and least understanding professors you will ever encounter. Organic chem is definitely a tough subject and she doesnt make it any better. Its very hard to get an A unless you like and understand chem like the back of your hand.

You watch her long, pre-recorded lectures and then do group work w/ TAs for a combined total of approx. 10 hours per week, yay. The tests are extremely hard and you need a VERY solid understanding in order to get an A. Good luck trying to contact her through convoluted WebAssign! You also have to be dead in order for her to excuse your absence.

For her online class, the lecture slides are so congested and she spends more time trying to explain analogies than she does the actual material. She is absolutely inaccessible, if you have a question, you have to post it to a discussion board because she will NOT answer you. Tests are excruciatingly hard and are almost nothing like any assignment.

the fact that you basically cannot skip class and on top of that must have your camera on in discord is RIDICULOUS. i was sick due to covid vaccine and had to do class from my bathroom floor, looked like an absolute clown. cant wait for this class to end. eats up 20+ hours of my school week even if theres no exam. the class structure is dumb

This class is the worst, and I wouldn't recommend it. I took it online (COVID-19), which means that I never got to meet the teacher because all of her lectures are pre-recorded and the zoom meetings consist of groupwork and help that only comes from the TAs. Sandberg also sent out several discouraging emails to anyone who's struggling to drop it.

She does her online chem via Discord. Which is interesting. You do the lectures before the discord call, and if you miss class it will be a nightmare. Every assignment has a password, and you have to finish before a certain time. You basically have to be dying or mortally wounded to be exempt from a test. Her tests mostly only allow 1 submission.

Her lectures are worded in the most roundabout & confusing way. She spends more time explaining her convoluted metaphors about "screaming cats" or whatever when I just wish she'd explain the actual concept well. The lectures are coupled with webassign problems to solve as you learn, but many points are taken off if you don't get them right 1st try.

I found Dr. Sandberg to be a fantastic professor, but I can see why so many people hate her class. You have to watch her lecture videos before class, which are pretty time-consuming, and work with other students to complete in-class assignments. I learned orgo VERY comprehensively, but if you're just looking to pass, try to take someone else.

I know that O chem is supposed to be hard. You will have 4 extremely time-consuming assignments a week, the webassigns are stupid hard, and there's no room for error. Also don't use mental health or any serious excuse because she will make you go through a painful process to get it approved. Also extremely demeaning when you ask for help.....

Dr. Sandberg's system for teaching Orgo 2 is excellent. All of the lectures are videos, and class time is spent solving problems with TA guidance. The work you are required to do for class directly prepares you for the exams. Although organic chemistry is difficult she has found a streamlined method to give students support.

taking the flipped section or online format will be time consuming. the exams are stupid hard and since they're taken on webassign there's zero room for error. don't bother using mental health as an excuse so if you have test anxiety, take someone else. you really have to be mentally motivated to get through all of the lectures and study a lot
