Prior to taking this class, I was very intimidated by the reviews of this professor. Had him for Cultural Anthropology. He talks a lot and expects you to write everything down. We had 2 book reports due and they were the easiest grade ever. Only a midterm and final, both of which were take home but make sure you listen and take notes!

Even if you give all your answers in verbatim(as he wants it to be) he will still be confused by what you wrote. Take the extra credit he offers you, you WILL need it. Don't go to his class? Get ready to fail.

Ok yeah Kasserman is a tough grader and everything, but most, if not all the time he'll give you the exact answers before you take the exams or after when you do the corrections, record every class, especially the one where he goes over the test questions. He talks and goes off topic a lot, like a lot. He'll stay on one topic for like half and hour

He is very difficult grader. You need to show up to every class or you will not pass. He gives out to exams and if you do not write word for word what he says in class he will take points off. He talks way too fast. I would suggest recording his class. I would not recommend taking his class.

This is a required course for psych majors, so if you can avoid Kasserman - do it. There is no textbook, you have to come to every single class to know what material he went over - even if you have a family emergency. He does not use a power point or any other instructional aid and will not repeat himself so you have to write extremely quickly.

The class is very lecture heavy he talks very fast and it is hard to take notes. Definitely record lectures/take notes they are the answer to the essay test he goes over the answers he wants in the essay test but in a specific way. Outside text reading required

I'm telling you to drop this class in the beginning of the semester. He is such a hard grader and does not put up your grades anymore. His class made me not make deans list. Here's everyones warning to switch out ASAP.

The worst part of his class is the grading. He does two papers and two exams. The papers are an easy 15 points each. The exams, on the other hand, are quite frankly the stupidest things I have ever done. You WILL NOT pass them if you don't write VERBATIM what he says in class. Also, if you hate dad jokes, you are in for quite a semester...

He is a nice guy and all, but tries so hard to be funny. Grades super hard on exams and super easy on the papers. Make sure to go to class the day he goes over the exam and record him and write down word for word what he is says on your exam if you want to pass your exams. Do not write in your own words.

He is one of the worst profs I ever had. Lectures are boring and makes no sense. Hard to take good notes. Even harder to pass the test. For the first 3 weeks of taking the class i didn't even know what anthropology was because he sucks at teaching.

He is by far one of worst professors I've ever taken. I took all the notes he said, and wrote the answers on his exams, and failed. I'd advise no one to take his class.

Kasserman is a really nice guy&the class is pretty interesting. Its all lecture, the papers are easy you "read" the book and tell him what you're fav parts were. The midterm/final is given in advance and you take a whole class and he gives you the answers to go home and type-but DO NOT put it in your own words. Hand in verbatim what he says to pass

Kasserman's is an excellent teacher, very straightforward. If you don't like heavy lecture and someone to push you to be a better writer then I don't suggest taking is course with him. He is a tough grader but it's only to push you to be better. Get ready to listen and take notes. QUALITY, DETAILED NOTES. Love his humor, great class!

Went to EVERY CLASS wrote down his notes verbatim and even recorded what he said on review days and I still got a D. I figured it was for my wording on my exams. Got a friend who is an English major to proof read them and I got a D in the class. Claims papers are to help your grade but they're only worth 15 points vs the exams 95

He doesn't like technology so he does not use blackboard or create any powerpoints. He grades grammar but half the time you won't know how to spell the tribe names. You can go to every class and the exams will still be close to impossible. He nitpicks when he grades, and will always find something wrong with your answers. Would not reccomend

Had him for Cultural Anthropology. He gives out two tests (take home) and two papers. The papers are easy, all you have to do is write whether you liked the books or not. RECORD THE CLASSES. He encouraged you to do so. To pass this class all you have to do is show up the day of the test review and record the lecture.

Comment:
I have never had a more monotonous and pompous professor. He is a sweet guy but tells old jokes he thinks are funny and reiterates the same thing each class. He thinks so highly of himself and generation. Most of the class he rags on the students for being the "special generation". DO NOT TAKE HIM. I regret it with every fiber of my being.
