Comment:
Carolyn Eisenberg is one of the rudest professors I have experienced. I am by no means a Republican, but if you ever tried to speak up she would tell you that she knows more than you do, so listen to her. He barely grades the work she gives you and considers a "high pass" as a B grade. She is very unprofessional and has a huge superiority complex.

Prof Eisenberg is the sweetest, most caring professor Ive had. She did this class on the war on terror, and with any history class, theres a good chunk of reading that is due. If you do the assignments and participate in discussion, the class is very enjoyable. 3 or less papers depending on how many students she has and a final essay, no tests.

Eisenberg really cares about her students! She is very passionate about what she teaches. In such a politically polarized climate, it is so important to have academics like her who are willing to listen to conflicting opinions on an issue. She is sometimes a little scatterbrained with due dates, but is overall great.

Professor Eisenberg is one of my favorites at Hofstra. She definitely cares about what she is teaching and wants to instill that in her students as well. In a class centered around the U.S news, she did a great job implementing the current events going on. The class was full of open discussion and there was not a lot of stress in regards to grades.

Professor Eisenberg teaches History of the News. Instead of history, it ended up being a current events class where we read the New York Times because apparently that is the only coverage that matters. If you are looking to go to a class where you won't hear about Trump nonstop this isn't for you. And if you disagree with her she won't hear it.

Had her for a "Trump Presidency" course. VERY liberal, like most of the professors here. Assigns a lot of reading/papers. I got through it without reading a single page of any of the books, based my papers off of what I read online/remembered from class discussions. Repeats herself A LOT. If you participate & make yourself known she'll reward it.

Prof Eisenberg is very sweet and understanding. There are no test/quizzes in this class, only papers. 3 papers (4-6 pgs) and a final (which is another paper). If you don't like to read I don't recommend taking this class. There was about 6 books for this class and the theme was "War On Terror".

She is one of the worst history professors i ever had. she would assign papers with open ended questions and tell me that i missed the point of the question. she gave us a syllabus more than a month into the class. there is A LOT of reading. she is terrible and avoid her at all costs!!!

Great Professor, difficult but fair, subject material changes from semester to semester because of the class. It is a seminar. Love her. Super understanding and willing to help if you need it. You will learn.

I love Eisenberg. Im a history major and she is by far my favorite professor. yes she does give a lot of readings and yes she assigns an essay for every book you read, but she's a fairly easy grader and a wise old woman. if you participate in class and do your work you'll get an A. basically she rocks so take her

Class was boring. Hist 20 is where the professor picks the topic. mine was on the CIA was is extremely difficult to understand unless you have previous knowledge of it. No tests/Quizzes 2 5-7 page paper based on books and a take home final of essays which is like 10-12 do it with time Its not easy. She knows what she's doing but i hated the class.

Great professor, can't wait to have her again since I'm a history major. Going to try to take honors with her. Classes are not test based, rather they are discussion based. :)

She is an amazing professor! Yes, the class was hard but mainly because no one knew much about the CIA and the books we read weren't easy either. But she admitted this was her first time reading the books and teaching the CIA so you can't expect her to get it right on the first try. She really tries to accommodate the students and I learned a lot!

No tests or quizzes, she requires you to read books and discuss them in class. Very easy, but very boring history 20 is a class where a a professor picks a theme mine was the CIA very hard ot understand. alot of peopel tend to argue and give their opinion . she does as well. overall okay with few papers

A LOT of reading, sometimes a little hard to keep up. all classes were discussion-based, which was nice, but a little hard to take notes. I found the class to be very boring, but she was very nice. Genuine about the subject, encouraged questions from us while in class- didn't explain how to do papers that well, but very easy grader.

This class was really annoying. We didn't do anything. She is a very nice person and easy grader but there is a ton of reading. We barely even talked about the readings. She was never clear about what she wanted for papers. She is strict about attendance but we don't do anything in class. Easy grader but not very effective as a professor.
