There is a lot of homework and writing assignments. Most quiz answers can be found on quizlet. He is very hard to reach through email and doesn't give much feedback. The lectures are hard to sit through and difficult to understand. Don't take this class unless you are interested in the content. It is not an easy A.

This was the first time he taught this course, but he only ever lectured. He would talk, and ask a question that no one understood because of how he words himself. Often times he would also disagree with your opinions and try to argue on the basis. The homework was fairly decent, but he wasnt super prepared for this class, and it could be better.

Although this class was very time consuming, it was generally easy as far as following the online modules and knowing what was expected each week.

Took this class online and loved it. Same set of assignments each week (A reading, small written assignment, quiz, and discussion) Graded easily and gave feedback. As long as you read the short chapters you'll do great. Would take again any day. Loved this professor.

He's a bit controversial amongst students because he is a little off. I think most students that find him boring probably aren't interested in philosophy. If you find the subject interesting, even if it's just a GenEd, he presents fascinating material that is moderately easy to digest, giving how mind-boggling the material is by nature.

Doctor Gooch is a really nice guy. He does like pop quizzes & the exams are tough. If you are expecting an easy class this is not the guy for you. However if you actually want to learn something he is a great professor.

Professor Gooch leads the most boring, monotone, off topic lectures i have ever attended. Powerpoints are loaded with text, and he jumps between slides as he talks. If you take this course, be prepared to teach yourself the material. This class would have been much easier as well as more interesting with a different professor.

I would not recommend him to anyone. I cannot tell you one thing I have learned from his teaching. He is very monotone and he jumps around points and never really gets there. I've had to teach myself most of the course.

This was an online class. I wasn't sure what to expect when I registered for it, but I found it to be very interesting! Professor Gooch stuck to the sylabi and he was more than fair with the way he grades. Highly recommend this class and I am looking forward to taking another class from him.

His class is sooooo boring to sit through. I kinda wanted to always kill myself everyday during class. *BUT* He sends out a ton of review sheets and study aids that cover pretty much everything on the tests/quizzes. I passed without really listening because he was so helpful in this aspect.

Sooo boring! Philosophy itself isn't all that exciting in my opinion but he makes it worse. Does take attendance. Homework and quizzes are easy but the tests are impossible. Overall I found this class very confusing. Wouldn't recommend taking it with him.

He is a very intellent person overall. His lectures are extremely monotonous and he has a hard time keeping things simple. Not strict on attendence, half of my class left each week after the break. Homework and quizzes are easy but his tests are a nightmare. This class overall is hard and the material takes a lot of time to understand.

Not that difficult at all, and will try to help you as best he can. Lecturing is his weakest point--tends to drone on and on and goes off on tangents. Overall though, he's a really good instructor who knows his stuff. He seems arrogant at first, but he's really not. Doesn't joke around much but he's nice.

WILL NOT LISTEN TO YOUR OPINION!!! He's a decent guy, but very arrogant, will not listen to other's point even if he is flat out WRONG. If you prove him wrong, he says "I see your point..but we'll come back to that" and then he ignores it. Its annoying as hell. He's ok besides that, however, not an easy grader but fair.

I thought the class was pretty confusing. He lectrued the whole time, and mostly completely off topic. He really seems to be into philosophy too, he tries slipping the meaning of life in his lectures quite often. The assignments and tests weren't extremely hard, but his lectures just make you confused at the end of the day.
