His class is hard but if you have perfect attendance and take good notes and study a few days a head of the test you'll understand everything. He loves when people use his office hours bc it shows him you care. So ask as many questions as you need to bc you'll be more likely to understand everything and be a better teacher in the future.

Great teacher, very knowledgeable and always available for extra help. Spoke the truth, didn't sugar coat things, but overall great teacher. I hate math and I learned to really enjoy it the thought of teaching it.

He's ncredibly rude! He makes you feel dumb, & freaks out if you try & get clarification on a questions. The tests aren't terrible, but long. He is very unclear on assignments & contradicts himself. He adds & takes away assignments as he pleases but doesn't tell you. You might as well not pay attention to the syllabus because he doesn't follow it

My overall complaint about him is that he can be unbelievably rude. The tests aren't bad...the portfolio is another story. He has what is needed in the portfolio outlined in the syllabus, but then continues to add around 10 extra assignments. He is often not clear what exactly he wants in it either, as he will add/drop assignments on a whim. Don

Old school. Contradictory. He likes the idea of multi-strategy, constructivist teaching but doesn't know how to model it in class. Grades based on how well you memorized what he said. Lectures are nonlinear making notes hard to organize. Content was helpful,and essential to effective teaching, but his pedagogy was inconsistent with best practices.

He's good teacher. Whatever he teaches in class will be on test almost exactly. He takes off alot of points on test though for silly mistakes. He is very negative and often suggest that some of us find new careers. He makes everyone feel stupid or embarrased. Was not the most encouraging learning enviornment. I haven't had a better teacher since high school. It took Chest Wester 4 years, but they finally gave me a good prof. Dr. Kerrigan is honest, which comes off as self-righteous and mean sometimes. He's incredibly talented and wants you to be the best you can be.

This man is the grumpiest man i have ever met.he told us everyday that we would be terrible teachers.he has no confidence in his students.he is completely self-righteous and a jerk. he might know the material, but he will make you feel worthless and stupid. Dr Kerrigan is one of the BEST teachers @ West Chester. He knows what he is talking about and helps prepare you to be a great math teacher. He gets you to think like you are the students in the class and to examine each problem as a student would. He is extremely approachable and will always go out of his way to help you.

Let me just say that although my grade in the class was not good, I still think he is a good teacher. I felt like he rushed through a lot and assumed a lot about our previous math education. I took Gallitano for 101 and got B+. I sort of wish I took her for 102, I think my grade would have been better. Kerrigan was always in his office to help me.

Dr. Kerrigan has been my favorite professor to date. He is extremely competent, organized, passionate, and friendly. He takes to a tough love approach regarding time investment that, for me, was extremely motivating. If you put in the time on your own doing the homework and making sure you understand the concepts, his tests are a breeze.
