WORST. Default B+ (his words) randomly assigns hw last min. (not on syllabus), never grades them, calls on people (participation heavy), cameras on. Concerning that he genuinely thinks he's doing us a favor by giving an absurd amount of work. SIX PAPERS + 20 slide presentation and a 10-page final paper. not an easy A! way better options for intro

Tons of essaysand I never received a grade for any of them. I had no clue how I was doingI emailed him asking when we would get individual grades and he never said anything. My first grade was a final one. Theres 0 room to improve because of this. If you write bad the entire semester, you would never know. Surface-level marketing info. Avoid.

Prof Buchanan may come off as a bit eccentric at first but he definitely knows what he's doing! He's passionate, funny, and very easy to talk to so make sure you stick around after class and get to know him a little - he has great advice! Participation is all that matters, you don't need to take any notes. He grades harshly but there's extra credit

Easy class, cool guy. Really not much to worry about with Brucey. Say hi every once in awhile and he'll give you a good grade. Really as easy as that.

Buchanan is a funny guy, and he stresses the lectures very much. He takes pride in the fact that he is the only LBS teacher to not give tests or homework. Instead he randomly assigns three 15 page papers throughout the semester and gives you a week to do them. I also forgot to mention that he does not hand back your past essays. Been 6 weeks.

I know that Professor Buchanan is a bit polarizing in that he is a really harsh grader, takes forever to give back essays with no feedback, BUT this was one of the best if not the best class I've taken in college. I learned so much from him, and really thoroughly enjoyed his lectures. You just have to make sure to be engaged to get a good grade.

Everyone got B+ but there are usually some lucky guys who can get A. The class is simple, considering that whether you make careful notes, whether you contribute in class actually makes no difference on your final grade. I don't know if extra credit matters but they are really good activities so please go.

Took Principles of Marketing with him during J-term. An amazing professor. His class was hilarious, engaging, well structured and fun. He knows a lot. Lectures are organized and he takes you out to see the city. We had one group project and one final project. Readings are light and engaging. Great class to take for J-term.

Unlike the rest of the LBS professors, Buchanan doesn't assign much work at all. He goes through no cases during the semester and only asks for a few write-ups and the group project submission. So his class is not very challenging. That being said, he doesn't grade at all - no one knew their grades until after the semester was long over.

Buchanan's class is your prototypical college liberal paradise. If you agree with his views, you get an A, otherwise good luck. He takes every opportunity to bash on personal liberties and the freedom of speech. For a class known as B-law, there is very little actual law taught. +This is the only section without case write-ups+
