zimmer was a weird teacher, she wanted you to play these kid's games and participates which sounds easy but then it gets tiring, she has essays and projects you have to do and watch a performance at the school.

The activities and group dynamic developed by Professor Zimmer is astounding. The class is primarily attendance based. She is very active, respectful, encouraging, and knowledgeable. There are readings needed to write the occasional reflections, but overall this class offers a light workload. The education connections are great!

The class is quite simple, games are usually being played everyday. attendance matters so if you are planning on missing a day just email her before hand. There is a big projects and two-three other major assignments that counts but thats pretty much it shes a good person.

Patricia is a very caring lady towards her students and their specific needs. She is on the older side, so sometimes it takes her a while to get her point across to the class. There are almost no lectures, a lot of interactive and physical movement, and maybe three papers and one or two big projects throughout the semester.

Comment:
Patricia Zimmer is an artsy, sweet woman whose place is in the theater, not the classroom. I found this class HIGHLY useless. Her lectures had little to no substance, our "textbook" was a poorly written self-help book which she referenced heavily. The course is basically reflection papers and attendance; save your money if you like to skip class.

It was a fun class - you get to escape being adult twice a week and enjoy your childhood while enjoying learning ways to apply it to children's development. She's a sweet lady but know participation matters. In-class group activities and a few projects and a paper. Overall a pretty good class, I'd recommend taking her.

Sweet lady, but her class was not my cup of tea. Extremely easy, but not my thing; I'm a nursing major. Most of class is learning kinesthetically and going totally outside of your comfort zone w/ ppl you don't know. 1 really great positive is she strives to connect the class to everyone's major and personal life, which was really awesome.

Patricia is absolutely wonderful. Such a sweet lady, very passionate about what she teaches, and so helpful. Probably one of the best courses and professors I've taken at EMU. Make sure you show up to class because participation matters! A few papers, a few projects and you must see two outside performances.

Very fun and interactive class, often we would play games for the entire class and then get out early and leave. She is very fair and really cares about her students. Highly recommend her!

Patricia is a great professor. Her class require a lot of participation. You'll play a lot of games and some role-playing. There's a few papers assigned, but they're relatively easy. You'll only need the book for quotes here and there in your papers. Her class is a lot of fun and definitely one I would take again.

Patricia is one of the nicest and funniest people you will ever meet. She is simply one of the best instructors I've ever had. The class was very easy. Just show up and participate. We hardly used the text books except for a few short papers. She is extremely helpful and responds quickly. I would take her again if I had the chance.

I absolutely LOVED this class. Patricia is so sweet, and half of the class is just playing games from childhood. Also a bit of making up scenes and getting to know each other. Projects are not hard, it's easy to get a good grade. Minimal reading just from the coursepack, but that's just to help on the 2 exams. Great class, great professor! :)

Played many kids games, but when connected with the readings it made a powerful insight into relationships between adult and child play/life.Really proves importance of play.Very interesting.HIGHLY recommended to Elementary Ed majors,or for an A's.The activities in her class will be extremely helpful for years to come, in many different situations.

This is the second time I had a class with her. I felt like this class was almost a duplicate of the CTAR 222 class. The lesson's didn't seem to be well planned out. There were a lot of assignments that I felt was busy work. Some of the activities we did were fun. Those that weren't just needed a little more structure.Attendance is key.

Okay, if you're taking courses at Second City then an undergrad Improv class is obviously not for you...duh. But Zimmer is great. The class is cake AND fun which is rare.
