If don't have someone you can share notes with, don't skip class. Tests are mostly true/false and they are very long. Didn't really learn anything, he reads pointless articles throughout class and tests you on it. If it wasn't for a shared google doc that was made for everyone in class to share notes in for the tests, I probably would've failed.

Don't take this class if you truly want to learn about journalism. Take this class if you want an easy A and are good at taking notes or have friends that are good. You get to use notes on all the tests, but the lectures are not interesting.

The high scores from other reviewers are because this class is ridiculously easy, but what for Tim lacks in challenge he makes up for with insane long rambles. This Epics take at least 20min and they are as pointless as this class. You can go months without learning in class .This class rivals Nyquil for its power to put people to sleep

Not difficult to get an EASY A. Didn't show up for half the classes, because it was a 9 a.m., but still managed to get an A. GOOGLE DOCS are your best friends. Lets you use notes for all the tests. Don't forget to do the 5 question quizzes on BB for easy points. 10/10 recommend.

Wulf's class is graded entirely on tests. There are three kinds, given twice a semester: textbook exams, current topics exams, and the midterm/final. His tests are open book/open notes, so I recommend getting a class Google Doc going early so you can share lecture notes. His lectures are mostly just statistics, nothing really interesting.

Study guides make the tests very easy to pass if you're detail-oriented because all tests are open notes. He gives you a random question out of three based on the first letter of your last name. Boring lectures but such an easy "A" if you just write as much information you can when answering the test questions.

Comment:
JMS 200 was a total joke. It was also extremely boring. Wulf chooses 5-10 headlines that have something to do with contemporary media and reads them at the speed of light while you take notes. 2 Tests on those articles that are open note and true/false. There are also 2 textbook exams that you're supposed to read for but are also open note, T/F

An easy A class if you show up to get the clicker points and make sure you have good notes printed out for the tests. All tests are open book/note so just make sure you have everything you need for the tests and you'll be fine.

Comment:
Boring lecturer who rambles, essentially making this class a waste of time. Reading quizzes ARE open-notes BUT he expects so much detail that it usually takes the entire 50-minute class period to finish each quiz. Assignment requirements are unrealistic (fortunately my lab instructor was more lenient). Would not take him again if I had the choice.

boring class, only take it if you need to for JMS major! daily clicker questions, and the open note tests take a lot of prep, but they're easy. definitely bring a computer for daily current topics!!

The class is definitely easy to get a good grade but the lectures are horribly boring. Which made attending the classes for clicker questions a bit difficult. But as long as you attend most of the lectures you should be fine. Exams are open book and open note but are very long and take up the entire class time.

This class is an easy A or B for putting in minimal effort. He talks super fast so keep up, but other than that the class is fairly easy. Skim the text, go to class for clicker points, take good notes and you will be fine. Wouldn't take this though if you aren't a JMS major. He's also the sweetest old man ever haha

Every class has clicker points. 6 tests total. Open note & open book but a TON of information & you still have to prepare. You will be rushing to take notes the entire class because he talks super fast & everything he says will be on the test. He uses tons of statistics that are impossible to memorize. Curved up a little at end without telling us.

So Wulfemeyer is generally a good guy; fun, quite nice, caring. However, he pours on 3 tests at once, all open notes and open book, but they are very detailed. You have to buy the book too as there's 1/3 tests is a textbook exam. Lectures get really boring, but you have to pay attention.

Lectures are awful boring, mostly just him reading statistics from newspaper articles most of the time but you still have to go bc there are clicker points every day. All of his tests are open note and open book so they are extremely easy. Just don't make the same mistake I did and forget your book for a textbook test:/

He is just the cutest and i felt bad about how miserable the class was. I could barely keep my eyes open. Everyone creates google docs for the current topic and textbook exams so attendance is pointless except for clicker points. It's an easy A for a gen ed if youre willing to listen to an old guy in an array of hawaiian shirts read online articles

This professor is a nice guy but the class is a little boring. Just a bunch of articles with lots of statistics and some notes after. However the exams are open book, so you should skin the notebook and take decent notes, and look out for a study guide. Also, he does clicker points every class.

This class is just Wulfemeyer standing at the front of the class reading articles. You do get tested on them so try to take fairly decent notes and study them before the tests, even if they are open-book. The textbook is very poorly written but it's pretty much essential to passing, do the questions in the back and you'll be set.

It's a pretty easy and straight forward class. All tests and quizzes are open note and open textbook so many people in the class often underestimate how much they should prepare for a test or quiz. My advice: answer the questions in the back of each chapter and highlight the answer in your textbook, it helped me A LOT.
