While she is a nice person one on one her class structure makes zero sense. She can be very rude on days and Ive often felt bad for others in my class. Her marking scheme is inconsistent and she seems to use it to keep you in a certain grade area (ie some tests I'd receive half marks, sometimes not)

Jean is a marvelous teacher with a great personality! She is quite funny and will explain anything to you if asked. Her course however is a tough one and you must attend and keep up with the work to do well.

Humorous in that she lightens the mood with jokes (whether they're funny or not). She is by no means an easy marker, but she expects a lot from you and let's you know it. Class is not "mandatory" but she won't be pleased if you skip a lot. Very thorough and fair marker. Just don't expect to breeze through this course.

Dont be fooled by the word "Elementary" for a basic course she makes it very hard. This prof is quite strange and annoying. I thought this course would be an easy beginning to German boy was I wrong. Take course If you can learn well on your own her lectures make you feel unconformable.

Without a doubt the worst prof I have had at MUN. We had about 10 people in 3010 class with her, but by the time 3011 came around we had 2!!! One girl lived in Germany for a year so she was almost fluent, and they spent class time talking with each other while I sat in silence. Not helpful unless you absolutely love her!

Spent most class time talking about German toilets, her trips to Germany, or random things that had nothing to do with the curriculum. When asked a question she would make a joke or say something not resembling an actual answer. Even when approached outside class she was unhelpful in relating course material to students. I dropped in lieu of fail.

One of the most interesting classes I have ever taken.Dr Snook is very interested in what she teaches and makes you want to be just as interested.She takes time to make sure students understand and wants students to succeed.Always willing to give extra help,and if she can't she lets you email with her instead!If you can,take her classes!

1-she is NOT hilarious or even remotely funny.. she has the humor of someone that never got out much their whole life. 2- she is weird. come on, if you don't admit this I know you are lying. 3- she expects every student to be into the subject as much as she is, and she thrives on hounding you when you miss ONE class...in front of everyone.

She really is a horrible prof. Whenever you spoke up in class, and you got something wrong or didn't understand something, she'd embarrass you. She is also very insane, and should be put in a clinic. I dropped the class after about 2 weeks and I am so glad I did. Worst prof ever.

This woman is so bloody hilarious. I enjoy her class immensely and I will definitely take another course with her. Make sure you have your work done and make sure you know it. She likes people that are smart.

She is honestly the worst prof ive ever had. There is a diffrence between correcting students, and making them feel stupid. She doesn't teach you anything, and expects you to know it. I would not reccomend this prof to anyone.

Jean Snook is arrogant and condecending. She yells at her students for wrong answers and has everyone so terrified that they won't say a word in what is suppost to be a conversational german class. She has an attitude problem.

I did extremely well in her class but only because I taught myself. She didnt care about anyone, and whenever anyone spoke up she made them feel like **** in front of everyone. It was actually ridiculous.

Excellent prof, if you're interested and willing to work. She has interesting anedotes about her time in Germany which are always amusing. She sometimes forgets that it is a first year class and expects you to know the answers, but if you need help, she is very willing to give it. Very lovely woman :)

I signed up for the course a week late, and she expected me on my first day to know what everyone else knew... it's more like the language part of the class is just her talking to herself, and the rest of the course is her reliving her youth. I don't find her to be a great prof. I'm don't look forward to going to her class (which I usually do), and I feel that I'm teaching myself the material. However, She does have some interesting stories about histories of Germany and such. She's not very relatable though...she's definately got an arrogance about her.

She is NOT a good Professor... she doesn't teach you anything... in fact she doesn't teach... I don't know what sheâ€™s doing sometimes.. Well all the time...
