Comment:
Dr. Zondlo lectures incredibly fast and gets into a zone to the point that you think there's never a good time to ask a question. Just cut in. He WILL make time for you. He might answer your question with a question and put you on the spot, but he wants you to think. If you care more about learning than being embarrassed, you'll succeed.

Quite literally the hardest class I have EVER taken. On all his exams (normally 3 + final) low 40s are an A. Very disorganized and uploads problem sets maybe 72 hrs early if lucky. Took 2 months to get our 1st exam grades back. You'll think you understand it then get 70% of your exam wrong. Nice and passionate man, but he will rip you a new one.

This subject is ridiculously hard, it's to be expected. However, Zondlo is great at making it understandable. He talks very fast but it encourages you to take notes and everything he goes over in lecture will be on the exams. He wants you to understand the basics- he holds review sessions and his office hours are frequent. Great prof.

Zondlo is a FANTASTIC orgo professor. He speaks very fast and every lecture is a 50 min race to get down everything he writes, but get it all down and you have everything you need to succeed in his class. He really wants you to understand the fundamentals behind what he teaches, and his exams reflect that. My favorite junior fall chem-e class.

Uses basic examples in class to introduce topics but then puts complicated questions on the exams. Prides himself by putting things on the exam that "you've never seen before." This class should definitely have an exam note but doesn't, even though the exams are 10 pages long and must be completed during the 50 minute lecture.

He really loves what he does and you can tell cause of his energy, but his class is ridiculously hard. There is so much homework and he makes it up himself so usually it's really confusing. The exams were pretty difficult and only got worse as it went on but at least the lowest drops.

zondlo cares a lot about the subject, and if you can get past him being kinda rude he's actually pretty good. he talks really fast but i liked that because it kept me engaged the whole time without being tempted to look at my phone. there are 5 exams and a final and the exams are super hard but graded on mean/standard dev so its not that bad

Zondlo talks extremely fast. However, he is VERY clear with what he expects, and I loved taking his class. The curve is massive, so don't be scared of not passing (About a 40% for C-, 60% for B, 75% for A-). Last 2 exams are hard, our class averaged around 40%. The final is 20+ pages, but you get 4+ hours. Easy B if you just try!

zondlo talks SO fast, never answers questions, never does example problems on the board, and tests you on material you never covered - and he admits it. but hes actually really funny outside of class and does want people to do well in the class. very intimidating, but if you put in the work you should get at least a B- no problem. just go to class.

Zondlo is very passionate about what he's teaching. He's hard to keep up with sometimes. He gives weekly problem sets, and 4 midterms (lowest grade is dropped). Exams are reasonable for the most part. I had to use outside sources like Khan academy to understand some topics, but his notes. With fair effort you shouldn't get less than B.

Come to class ready to be bombarded with information for 50 minutes. Take diligent notes and ask your neighbors if you have any questions (he is a little harsh when responding to questions). His tests are definitely time trials, but if you are confident with the basics, you can do well in this class.

Very enthusiastic lecturer, will cover new material essentially every lecture, including right before an exam. Exams: 4 (drops the LOWEST score). Quizzes: None. HW: Weekly (10 = 1/2 a test grade). Grading: It's curved, A = 80+, B(-) = 55+ Tough tests, the reviews are useful, he asks people to go up to the board and try problems. Good Luck

Surprisingly, even though this course is hard, I ended up liking it. Dr. Zondlo is a wonderful lecturer and a nice guy. I know I'm not going to get an A, but it's my own fault for not trying harder. This is one of the best courses I've ever taken.

Dr. Z is the best lecturer I've ever had. He is extremely energetic and loves Chem. This man will show you how unprepared you are/how much you don't know. I learned more from him in a week than from Sametz in a semester. Exams are of Ivy League Caliber but curved appropriately (~40% is a C-). HW is fair and exams are too. Holds review before exams.

I got an A in this class, but I'm telling you, TAKE SAMETZ. Every test we got had some random multi point question, that resembled nothing of his notes/old exams. Also, he's a rude person. Try looking him in the eye and smile, bet he won't smile back. Sametz is boring, but you know exactly what to expect and you'll get a better grade.

Prof. Zondlo is without a doubt perhaps one of the best teachers I've ever had and arguably the best teacher in chem department. Extremely helpful in Office Hours, always held review session before exams. However, this is Organic Chemistry, and he wants to push to make YOU a better student, so it was difficult. Most energetic Lecturer ever.

Hands down Dr. Zondlo is the best professor I have EVER had. This is organic chemistry... ITS GOING TO BE HARD. However, Dr. Zondlo relays the material in a clear, concise and applicable manner. He makes you a better student because he pushed the boundaries of your intellectual capacity. People who say its hard didn't study enough. TEAM ZONDLO!

Zondlo is the man. If you are thinking of applying to medical school take Orgo with him. Why? Because it will show you how unprepared you are. Everyone I know has to study harder than ever. Zondlo's class will push you to the limit, but if you survive then you will grow both academically and emotionally. Study every night- go to office hours.

Zondlo loves organic chemistry- plain and simple. He is an enthusiastic teacher and you will learn a ton. Don't bother with the book and go to the TA help sessions after class. SIDE NOTE: Zondlo's tests are ivy league caliber but curved appropriately
