Comment:
This definitely is not a blowoff class, but if you spend time making sure you understand the homework you should do pretty well on the exams. He is a very fair, kind professor. His lectures are dry but his jokes make them more enjoyable. Strongly recommend reading the book to gain a more well-rounded understanding of the topics discussed in class.

Comment:
If you need to take econ4001, trust me, don't take with him, many professors' classes are easier. His exam only includes 3 questions, each worth 30-35, if you get wrong with one, then you are over. Other teachers' exams usually include 70% multiple-choice, and 30% large questions, which is much easier. PPT is messy and useless.

Comment:
Weinberg is a pretty boring lecturer. That being said, if you mildly take notes and then put in effort right before the tests, you should do alright. Also, make sure to do VERY well on the homework assignments because those can save your grade.

Very good guy. Lectures are upbeat. The material is difficult though. Has fair expectations. Midterms and final require a lot of studying and there was one problem on the final that we had never seen before. This class requires a prior knowledge of math, which I did not half. Class is probably a lot easier with math background.

Weinburg is a great guy when you get to know him.He says some funny stuff during lecture but can be unclear at times and when it happens, just blurt out a question about it and he'll help you out.The stuff isnt that hard if you do the problem sets right and read the book. The tests are exactly like the problem sets.Visiting office hrs is a good idea

I really enjoyed his class. He provides such clear, concise notes in class that reading the book is more of a hindrance than a help. Quick response to emails, great personality, fair exams, and just the right amount of work.

He's as goofy as all hell. The voice, the laugh, the crazy faces, the bowtie picture... Good teacher though. Explains things well. The midterm was relatively easy. The final sucked major ass.

nice guy but 60% of the class grade is the final. Basically if you screw up on that you are screwed for the class.

He makes his class challenging but also goes out of his way to make sure the students get a deep understanding of the material. He's helpful and is, refreshingly for the econ dept, excited about teaching and economics in general. If you can get him for 501.02/501A, do it.

He was born as a teacher, and he is also intelligent and knows the subject he teaches well; two things you can not find in a professor often; Teaching ability&interest and knowledge&intelligence. Ok it sound like four things but it realy is two.
