Really great class, really great professor. She let's you know what is expected up front, and is a very lenient grader. I got lazy and didn't read everything, but still managed to get an A. It does take effort, and you must attend class and do all of the assignments, but she's understanding and gives you chances for extra credit.

Comment:
Scott had favorites & quieted & snub you if you didn't agree w/her views, causing an uncomfortable feeling in class. Despite writing what other Prof. called "A" essays, I got "Bs." No h/w or test but A LOT of essays & useless reading. She never returns emails, was vague w/assignments, often went off track & lectured through class making it boring.

Dr. Scott is one of those rare professors that offer an undergrad the same respect as a grad student. She assumes that you are intelligent and allows room to explore without putting boundaries on it. Writing critiques are valuable, and will make you a better student in all of your classes. She knows her topic in depth and is a great facilitator.

That complaint is way off the mark. Dr. Scott is a super teacher, knowledgeable, caring, and well prepared. She's an inspriation to her students, and the best prof I've had in five years of higher ed. AND she's a great department chair.

I'm surprised nobody else has rated her. While I'm sure she means well, Bonnie Scott is incredibly ignorant about far too many things for a WMNST professor. Her blatant racism, classism & heterosexism are a roadblock for discussion, she silences students who dissent by giving poor grades, and the class was a waste of a semester. Avoid at all cost.

I enjoyed very much being Bonnie's student. She is wonderful, bright, and helpful. It took me some time to get used to her style as I had just arrived from another country, but she rocks!

Great teacher. Class WAS interesting and informative. People who have made other comments are probably those who never spoke up in class ro were not ready for a women's studies perspective of literature.

Hated this class, sooo boring. She never goes over what you need to know for the tests and only talks about what she thinks about the book. She says that every book is about being ****, whatever. Not fun at all, do not take this class for your GE

This was one of the most boring classes I've ever taken. She turns every image into a ****. Her enthusiasm is often misplaced and she only ever goes over about half of the assigned readings. Big waste of time.
