Great prof and person! Makes lectures interesting and worth going. Study guides are helpful and very clear grading expectations. One group project throughout semester but doesn't grade harshly. Good class.

Dr Conte is a good professor your grade is based on 3 test and a group project. I got a C+ due to me half assing the class but take good notes and study a week before the test. Test are concept based and the class is straight forward would recommend

Don't show up to lectures or get the book. Tbh, theyre both long and boring. Conte's a nice guy, but the subject material is kind of stale. Theres 3 tests (each worth 25% of grade), and a 7ish page paper (also worth 25%). The exams are definition based, just study his powerpoints and find good quizlets on the material and you can get an A cramming

Conte's lectures are super dry. I was always sleepy in his class. The material is posted on the slides, but with some missing info, so attend class if you want all of it. He also curves, which helps a lot. I didn't really pay attention, & still passed with an A, which would never happen to me in a different class. 1 E.C. opportunity (5 points).

He goes through powerpoint lectures fast, but he posts them on Bb the day before class. If you're taking notes by hand, have the powerpoints accessible through laptop/phone if you want to catch up.

He's a bit nerdy but his lectures are great, especially when he adds in jokes & uses pop culture examples. Go to class- he tells you what to focus on for tests and some of the test questions are about the in-class discussions. He also ends class early. Don't need TB- just do the study guide and you'll do great on the exams. 1 EC at end of semester.

Easily one of the most boring classes here. He was a really nice guy and did his best to make his lectures bearable, but being that they were 3 hours, it was tough. He gave out study guides before each test but they did not help much. Class was always more than half empty. One group project that is super easy and just a way to get more points.

He is a very nice professor who is very approachable and passionate about what he teaches. There is a group project that isn't too bad. This class is mostly based on tests. Cannot drop your lowest which kinda sucks. The class is long and boring and the study guide is useless. Tests are easy if you study the notes a lot and ready the book!

Great professor! Great material and a fun class. All grading is based on 3 exams and that is it, but if you go over the powerpoints, the key terms in the book, and the study guides given its a fairly easy class.

He knows a lot about an interesting subject, and he is nice one-on-one, but he does come of pretentious during lecture/emails. I don't think he means to do it, but he seems uninterested by the feedback he gets from students during class, which gets a little awkward. The class is entirely test-based, which is great if you're good at taking them...

I DO think Dr. Conte is funny and I liked all of the references (usually of great shows like the office/parks and recreation) he used to illustrate things. Huge curves on all the tests. One easy group project- the only problem was dealing with group members who don't work on the project

Good class. He keeps lectures interesting with videos and stories which help you remember things for the tests. Only 3 tests. No cumulative final. One group project (job analysis) but honestly it wasn't that bad. Take this class if interested in IO psych though. I had some interest at first, but now I am thinking about entering into the field.

He's honestly a great professor and very clear in his lectures. Take this class only if you're deeply interested in IO Psych. I was bored to tears each lecture (3 hrs long!) but only bc I realized IO Psy wasn't for me. Only 3 tests which sucks, but they're fair. I would recommend him as an IO Prof.

Took professor Conte's PSY319 during Fall 2014 semester. Passionate professor, very knowledgeable, but throws serious curveballs at you when it comes time for the exams. Of which, there are only 3. He offered no extra credit, and so the entire class rested solely on the 3 exams. Would not recommend to anyone not proficient in test taking.

So, he's nerdy and his references/jokes are usually a bit dated, and he DOES say "um" a lot. But, that's where the "bad" stops. He makes himself available for students, answers questions, and is completely fair about grading. I never used the "required" textbook. Nice guy, easy class.

3 tests (final isn't cumulative) & he provides study guides. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you go to class he'll tell you what's on the test. A small portion of the lectures is not in the book or on the powerpoint notes (a couple ?'s on test). Do the studyguide you'll get an A in the class. Book isn't really necessary.

Awesome guy! As long as you went to class the exams were a breeze. Only 3 exams make up your grade, so you REALLY want to make sure you go. Only spent a max of 3 hours preparing for each exam and aced each one.

Professor Conte was a good professor and a kind-hearted person. He was very clear and organized with what was going to be on his 3 exams. yes he was not all there to entertain but he did execute his job positively by delivering his knowledge as clear as possible for his students to pass his class.
