Had him for FYE, wasn't perfect but certainly one of my best professors. Lectures could be interesting or not interesting depending on the day. But he grades very fairly and has an overall positive attitude. Likeable guy. One bad thing is that sometimes due dates were a bit unclear. Need FYE? Please take his class, great FYE experience

Prof Dolzani is a great professor! Sadly we have to write 4 page essays once in a while, but however that is a requirement for the FYE at Baldwin Wallace University. That's nothing he can control. The take home quizzes are easy A's. He also lectures pretty heavily, but he also allows the class to engage. He's very passionate about what he teaches.

Really boring and monotone voice. Talks for most of the class period. Homework quiz every single night. You have to revise your paper if you don't get an A (???). I don't even like music and I was put in a class purely about the blues. You have to write 3, 4 page papers about the blues. It's terrible. Would not take again.

Dr. D is a good dude. He's a tough professor, but he'll cut you the slack you need if you really need it. Gives me great paper feedback and consistently makes the class laugh. Will take again.

I'm transferring after this semester, but Dr. Dolzani is the one BW professor I will genuinely miss having. His classes are engaging, interesting, and unlike many other professors, he makes it possible (even easy) for students to excel and pass his classes. I learned so much, and the workload for his classes is 100% manageable. Take his classes. :)

Dr. D is an awesome teacher. This is my first semester here at BW and he is my favorite so far. He's somewhat tough when grading but always there to offer huge amounts of feedback. He is a complete and utter genius; everything he teaches in my World Literature class has a profound meaning, yet he makes it easily understandable. I love this guy.

Professor Dolzani taught me so much in the two classes I had with him. His lectures are mostly based off of the textbook. He is unbelievably intelligent and also hilarious! He is so easy to talk to and is very understanding. The compassion he has for the subjects he teaches is truly inspiring. I definitely recommend taking Dolzani for English!

I had professor Dolzani for both World Lit and the Study of Language and he is simply wonderful. Proir to his class I never found works like the Odyssey or Dante's Inferno interesting but he really makes these epics come to life, not to mention he throws in humor. Very intelligent man, wonderful person.

Dolzani is a wonderful man. He truly cares about his students in an open way that some professors do not. He is highly intelligent, cultured, and sophisticated, but also gifted with a relatable sense of humor and a grounded personality. His lectures enliven the texts read in class. Take multiple classes with him!

Had him for 215. Honestly was a little boring since he values lectures a lot and it was hard to pay attention with him standing in one space and maybe writing a word or two on the board. Tests cover exactly whats on the review sheets. Pretty straight forward. Will give extra help when needed and always open to give advice.

I was one of Dolzani's numerous Conservatory "rescues" who ended up in the English department (2000-03). I was going through a rough time, and he gave me confidence as a writer and taught me to value myself as a person. His door is always open, and he'll extend deadlines if you've got a good reason. Possibly the best teacher I've had, period!

I had Dolzani for World Lit, Sci-Fi, and I forget the 3rd one now - but he was fabulous! Funny, interesting, excited about what we were reading. He brought a fresh attitude to stuff he must have spoken about over and over again. I also adored how he graded my papers. He couldn't have said nicer things about them.

He's a veritable God of English! World Lit. was definitely the most fascinating class I've ever taken. His lectures tend to be lengthy but interesting because he tied in philosophy, culture, art, & life to make it relevant. Very approachable & kind--always willing to help and even extend due dates if necessary. Absolutely wonderful man & teacher!
