Constance Pilkington was a horrible professor. She is the worst at William & Mary. She ignores emails, randomly cancels tests, has long boring lectures, bases the grade off of 3 tests, has terrible notes and is a very mean woman. Please don't take any course from her. My friends in the same class with a different professor aced it. Constance sucks.

I'm limited so I'm just gonna say a few things about her. Pilkington's class was horrible. She writes a word on the board and rambles about it, there are only 3 tests (you fail one and you're screwed), she doesn't reply to emails, she is very unorganized, and all of the other psych professors are better. Do not take any psychology course with her.

I was told psych would be easy. it was not. Her lectures were difficult to understand and she did not help when asked. Ive had a 4.0 my entire life and I got a 69.6% in this class, barely scraping by with a C-. please, for the sake of your GPA, do not take this class.

This class is horrible. I had to miss class a few times for verified reasons and its impossible to make up the material. She also holds office hours by appointment only but then ignores students emails asking to meet. If you have another class right before/after, then theres really no way for you to arrange a time to meet with her.

I strongly disliked social psych with Pilkington. The lectures are long and dry and would advise you to take social psych with any other professor. The tests require you to have crazy specific knowledge on all of the info covered in class so be prepared to completely memorize all of the notes you take in class.

Lecture class but the outlines are not specific at all and doesn't always follow the readings exactly. I sometimes felt the three multiple choice exams we were graded on were more application-based than anything we learned. If you go to most classes, take some notes, and study the terms, it isn't hard to get a B.

Took this class in Fall 2018. Extremely lecture heavy, will post lecture note on BB but only titles and no contents. Every lecture is like a note-taking test. Textbook used, but basically useless, only in-class notes are relevant to exams. Graded by only three tests, fail one and you're doomed. There are other options for PSY201, PLEASE AVOID HER.

AVOID!! Boring lecturer. Tests were unusually difficult - worded weirdly or not covered in lecture. TAKE NOTES ON YOUR COMPUTER unless you are a fast writer on paper bc she SPEEDS through notes/lectures. Also, her "study guides" are topics we needed to know on the exam that weren't covered in class but were in the textbook.

Pilkington lectures by writing outlines which I love because it forces me to pay attention to what she's saying. Some find her lectures dry, but if you have a true passion for social psychology, you will be invested for the full class period. She is also very receptive to questions and offers great advice to prospective psychology majors.

Her lectures can be very boring and she only outlines so be prepared to take very good notes. The tests can be tricky and there are only 3 so it is very important that your study HARD for them. Overall not bad, but I wouldn't want to take another class with her.

This class was not enjoyable at all. The lectures were boring and you have to take notes the entire class or you may miss something important. The exams were really challenging for no reason and always included questions that were confusing and unclear. Putting in a lot of work may not even get you a decent grade. Avoid this class if possible.

Sometimes funny during the lectures but mostly bland. Anytime a question was asked she seemed to be responding with more of a guess than an answer. The 1st test was pretty easy but the next two tests were much harder. It was just tough for me to motivate myself to go to this class. We did get let out early for most classes though.

Pilkington is a nice lady and her lectures are somewhat entertaining, however, get ready to spend a ridiculous amount of time studying if you expect a semi-decent grade. Your grade is based on three tests that are long and tricky. Only positive component of this is that the final is not cumulative. Love yourself and avoid this class.

Her lectures are very thorough and only uses an outline method in which she writes one word and talks about it for 20 minutes. It's hard to even understand her in class. Most of the test relies on her lectures. However, she will work with you and try to help if you need it. Her tests are more difficult than other intro to psych classes.

The worst professor I have had at W&M. She does not communicate well with students and is very hard to reach outside of class. This class was super interesting, but head this warning and take it with a different professor. AVOID PILKINGTON!

Your grade is based on 3 tests. For class she lectures, writing an outline on the board. If you are a visual learner or if you space out/don't pay attention it might be difficult. I suggest taking good notes and reading from the online book. Tests aren't unfair but can be tricky; averages are around 80%. She's chill and has a wry sense of humor.

Worst professor I've had at W&M so far. Very lecture heavy, which are extremely dry and fail to have a clear organization. Her test are poorly written, and rely heavily on trick such as "only a or b" or "none of the above". Did not take a single test with her that didn't have typos (and we only had three tests the entire semester)

If you do not go to class, you will not pass, even if you get the "notes" from a friend. She lectures VERY heavily and uses NO teaching aid whatsoever. Lectures consist of an outline, meaning she will write one word on the board and talk about it for 20 minutes. She doesn't emphasize important information so you're blindsided even when you study :(

Though attendance wasn't mandatory, the lectures make more sense if you go rather than looking at the notes online (those are just an outline of what is covered in class). Otherwise the class is fairly straightforward and simple.

I was thrilled we didn't need to buy an expensive textbook. Plus she is very accessible outside of class and by email. Easy B if you go to class.
