Most intense class I've taken thus far. His exams are based on in class lecture, but since he does go off in tangents his exams are rather difficult (in class he stated his average exam scores are D's , FYI!) I highly recommend to do the EC. He's very nice, but I wouldn't recommend him for Research Methods.

Dr. Deegan's class was the most intense and stressful class I have ever taken. Everything is done online which is great . All exams and quizzes are open book and open notes. Quizzes are based off of the book and the midterms and final are based on lecture. Go to class, ask questions! He curves grades at the end, fantabulous!

He's eccentric. Get's off topic easily. His lectures are exactly what he describes them as a, "framework." ASK QUESTIONS! This isn't easy material to begin with and he really does his best to explain well, but he realizes that the material is hard and offers a ton of extra credit. The midterm and assignments are all online which is nice!

If you are planning on taking this class, take it with another teacher. His lectures make absolutely no sense. They have no structure whatsoever. He is scattered, has no guidelines, and doesn't explain anything well. To top it off he is an insanely tough grader. Expects way too much from a 200 level class.

Deegan is such a nice guy, he will do anything possible to help students understand the concepts. His expectations are pretty high for quizzes and tests but they are ALL open book and open note, so there is no reason to worry about them. He makes a lot of extra credit available. He is a great guy.

Great Teacher. Cares about his students and WILL HELP you! He does go off topic sometimes but he is passionate about research methods so he does teach the material. He takes into consideration the fact that many people struggle with this topic, so he explains things clearly and in as many different ways as he can think of.

Professor is negligent and gets off topic. Teaching methods are absurd. Expects too much from a 200 level class. Don't take any classes with him!!

He is incredibly specific on what he wants and will grade accordingly so be careful with tests and quizzes because you will flunk them if they are not worded properly. He seems nice but he is all over the place and in class you will constantly be jumping back and forth between subjects.

Very helpful. Can be hard to understand but if you ask questions he will try and explain in a different way. Is kind of scatter brained but if you keep your notes organized you will be ok. Be specific on exams and come to class!!

What can I say? This teacher is very confusing. Always asks if people understand, but when we shake our heads 'no', he can't make things clear. He's nice and means well, but always goes off on a tangent. His TA is very rude. She gives lectures on APA and never slows down for anyone. She is very tough on grading. Not a good combo.

I hear him speaking, but not a word makes sense. I have absolutely no clue as to what this man is talking about. His lectures are unclear and all over the place. He's very strict & specific about what he wants done. He's a tough grader as well. This class is a nightmare; a combination of statistics & English. Take this class with someone else.

The entire course was taught by his snotty graduate student TA. He would stumble in occasionally bragging about the wild night he had just had. Seemed too concerned with being the "cool" teacher. When not teaching he works full-time as the department chair. Seems the title and position goes to his head. Not very approachable or helpful.

Dr. Deegan has an interesting personality; however, as most of the class was taught by a TA it's hard to accurately rate him. I have nothing good to say and nothing bad to say.
