Dr. Edwards is the best professor I've ever meet! He is always there to help students. Very nice and patient person. He explains every basic things in detail. Math 530 is a hard course because the course itself. He gives curve on exams.

Dr. Edwards may start off seeming like a difficult professor, and don't get me wrong he has high standards, but he is beyond willing to help you get there. His ability to explain he thought process both in words and in notation on the board is amazing. He wants to help, and he will help so just ask.

This is the hardest undergraduate math course by far. Exams are brutally tough and curved considerably. I've never spent more hours into a class. He's always available for office hours which is nice. He is really smart but expects a lot from the students. HW take 10+ hours, and exams you try and get lots of partial credit.

Prof. Edwards cares about his students. Lectures can be a bit boring at times if youre not into theory, but he does a really good job explaining concepts clearly. Homework every week. 3 exams and a final. Office hours are really helpful. Do the homeworks, and study them before exams and you should be fine.

He is a good teacher who is always there if you need help. This class is hard but he gives plenty of partial credit and he curves the tests.

Good writing and orgnization of the class. Be prepared to do weekly hw and spend 10+ hours on each one. This is a math course, not a finance course! Tons of math formuli show up. Exams are take home but very difficult.

Comment:
Don't take 302 with him if you have other difficult classes. Homeworks take a minimum of 10-15 hours a week. Rarely gives enough examples to do well on homework, since he focuses on explaining theory in class that you don't have to repeat. Really smart guy, but makes the class way more difficult than it needs to be. Overall, very disappointed.

Comment:
Prof. Edwards teaches very fast, and often times focuses on confusing proofs you don't need to know "to explain the theory." Expect weekly homeworks that are very tough, however tests are usually much easier. There is a curve but not until the end of the course. Office hours are helpful but don't expect much help in class if you're confused.

Comment:
This professor is absolutely awful. He made the class unecessarily difficult. Very convoluted teacher, seems as though he's trying to prove his intelligence, a bit arrogant and doesn't explain concepts very well. Extremely time consuming homeworks. Assumes a lot of knowledge and does not give many examples. Avoid him if possible.

Professor Edwards is the man! He gives homework's that are hard but the tests are way easier. If you don't understand a concept, his office hours are very helpful so go to them. He also grades to how the class does so the curve is very generous. I got an 87% in the class and ended up with an A-. Highly recommend him.

He teaches most things well, but is actually obsessed with proofs. Most homework consists of doing proofs, and he takes points off for little things. Not hard to get high grades on homework, due to most being graded for completion. Tests are hard, but I got an A- with an 82%, so he curves it a lot. Hard but not impossible class.

If you take a class with him be prepared for impossible homeworks that will consume your time and insanely hard tests. On the other hand he is extremely helpful, gives lots of partial credit, and he seems to genuinely care about teaching.

I think he makes this class more difficult than it should be, but it is an "A" that I really feel like I earned because it wasn't easy. He is very approachable and helpful, despite impossible homework and hard tests. He also looks a lot like Richard Dreyfuss' character in the movie Jaws which makes him hot in a nerdy kind of way. I'd recommend him

Homework is very difficult. Expect to spend 15 - 25 hrs. For some odd reason, he puts the HW solutions in the library reference room. Why not just pdf it to us in email? Tests are a tad easier than the HW. GEt HW solutions and study them for tests. Lectures are way too theoretical sometimes. Need more examples. He has great handwriting.

Lectures are full of theoretical proofs. Homework is impossible. Tests are fair. The text book is very unhelpful and attending class doesn't really help because he never explains anything in plain english--only talks in math variables (not even real numbers).

Edwards is the most concise professor I have had, within or without the MATH dept. My assumption is that there is a direct correlation between the ratings given to Edwards and the final grades posted on certain students' transcripts. Therefore, if you plan on doing well, you can, and you will subsequently like him.

Comment:
He only discusses theory in class and expects you to know how to do all the problems that he gives you. Test problems come out of no where on the tests which makes it a little more difficult. He only counts quizes and homeworks if they help, but make sure you do them because they will!
