Great prof! His lectures tend to be a little dry, which makes paying attention in class hard sometimes. Skip class and you'll still pass, although a lot gets covered during class.

Great guy, but would not recommend his class at all. He is very opinionated and sometimes it seems that i am not learning objective facts, but his opinion instead. His lectures can be very boring as he does not get far in the actual curriculum but rambles for most of the lecture. He records attendance as a part of the final mark.

This man was the most uninspiring person I have ever had the displeasure of listening to in my entire life. The fact that he can't seem to separate his own political beliefs out of his lectures was rather ignorant. Also, have fun being 4 units behind every other Poli Sci class in the school. Nice guy though!

If he gets off topic good luck, and be prepared to be like 8 classes behind every other psci101 all year. Nice guy though, knows a lot about what he's talking about just seems to forget we don't have PhDs too.

Professor Bickerton is a good professor. He sometimes can get a little off topic, but he is really knowledgable and has an obvious passion. His evaluation criteria isn't always clear, but he's easy to contact if you need help. He doesn't really use the textbook, so it's important to go to class because his slides sometimes don't make sense.

Besides being one of the most pompous professors at StFX, his lectures are phenomenal. Something about the way he speaks just gauges automatic interest and attention. He does a really good job of clarifying ideas and concepts. He is also very helpful when you ask for help.

Dr. Bickerton is easily my favorite prof. I enjoyed his lectures, simply because he is just so brilliant... he never runs out of things to say. I have so much respect for him, as he is extremely helpful and kind. He has high expectations, but is extremely down to earth. He is a fair marker, and is great about sticking to his outlines. LOVE !

Bickerton was an alright prof. I found his lectures to be very boring and dry, and I found him to be a hard marker on papers, midterms, and exams. I don't think I would reccomend taking a class from him. I had him for PSCI 221 and DEVS 202 this year.

Unlike a lot of devs classes the material was presented in a very straight-forward manner. Very intelligent and clearly well-informed about his subject material. I learned more about Canadian history in this class than in my actual Canadian history class. Would definitely recommend him.

Very intelligent guy. His lectures are interesting. At first he comes off as arrogant and asking dumb questions isn't a smart thing to do with him, but by the end of him you appreciate his humor and you learn a lot! He does care and he is very fair with his marking.

His lectures are very interesting, he keeps students interested! the way he teaches is awesome and it's easy to take notes. But if you zone out you'll miss a lot. So if you plan on zoning out and not take notes, you'll have to read the readings, if you pay attention then you don't have to do the readings because he explains them really well!

Other than him being extremely smug and sexy, he really knows his politics. He was a little arrogant, but if you agree with his political philosophy he comes off as humorous rather than insulting. Gave a GREAT exam review, and only had one term paper. If you take notes in class and skim the text, you'll do good! I will take future classes from him.

An okay guy. He is very knowledgeable in his field and likes it when people are engaged in the lectures. Didn't really like him at first, but by the end of it I was okay with him. His class was decent. An odd marker, but you learn quite a bit if you are open to it. Read the text and go to class! You'll be lost if you don't!

As an X alumn I still havent had a prof with as much knowledge as Dr. Bickerton having now moved on to my third university I must say this man knows his stuff and if you want to really learn politics he will teach you and he is not ridiculously hard as he knows how to teach. Just lectures from his head, impressive knowledge of Canadian Politics

Sexy, distinguished man. Easy to take notes from, he is a great lecturer - even though the topics may be boring at times. Passionate about his teachings and understanding, missed him when the class was over.
