I can't say I like him as a person. He's arrogant and is a pretty big jerk. But I've taken two of his classes and learned A LOT from both of them. He makes you work for your grade and attendance is extremely important. I missed one class all semester and my grade dropped from an A to a B.

He knows journalism. Listen to Bleske and you will be a succesful professional. I took four classes from him and I highly recommend him. But you will work harder than you want to. He is very critical of poor work and many students can't take the heat.

Bleske rocks. He taught me how to be a journalist. All majors should seek him out. It's too bad he's became the department chair and he teaches less.

Superficial and arrogant, and a real nerd. Took th class as an elective and can see why people make fun of news readers and other media clowns. He does nothing to improve accuracy in reporting and is way out of date with his tired and stale politically correct ideas.

Can be a jerk, but all in all is a good guy. You will have to work hard in his classes though. I busted ass, and still got a C, but it was worth it. Really helped me improve my writing. Has a good sense of humor. Has good command over his subject matter and is interesting, but is a bit cocky and full of himself. I would reccomend his class on news editing just because it will help your writing a great deal.

he has very high expectations which pushes you forward. you become a talented writer if you work damn hard for it. he gloats that he doesn't give A's, he picks favorites and he's very self centered. but the man honestly cares about each student maximizing thier potential

Bleske is the man! I learned so much from his class. It was hard work, but in the end it was worth it. An A is very satisfying coming from him because you know you earned it. Take this class with Bleske if you care about being a good journalist.

Very good teacher. You have to work really hard and he expects a lot out of his students. In the end it's worth it. If you make the effort and ask him questions when you need it, he can tell you are making an effort and rewards you for it.

I took this class from him prior to spending several semesters on The Orion. I learned more in his class than I did in all my other J classes combined. I graduated last spring and am now reporting at a daily. He can be tough, but it's worth it.
