Prof. Trier is a really funny, overall great guy. He does his best to make lectures entertaining. He gives open book/notes time during exams, which is awesome. Your grade solely depends on exam and lab grade, since there's absolutely no hw. Unfortunately, he is retiring after Fall 2017 semester :(

He is a great professor for BIO121. He's funny during lecture and his powerpoints that he gives in class are helpful for the test. Half of his test is open note and open book.

Great to take for Bio. half of his exam time was open book/ open note which saved my butt. Do not count on that time because you will not pass if you do not know the material. A lot of his exams are based on examples from his lectures that he does not put in the power points. so attending class is essential to pass even if class is a little boring.

Trier is fun guy for lecture. He tries to make boring stuff fun with cynical jokes every now and then. You have to be in class to get the notes or get them from someone else to pass the test. Part of the test is open note open book and he always curves them. As long as you study the material, you'll be fine.

He's one of the best profs I have had in the biology department. He uses power points in lecture but he leaves slides off so it's important to go to class if you want all of the notes. He let's you use notes for 20-25 minutes on each of the exams and posts a final review guide for each exam that helps if you do.

Prof. Trier made me laugh at times and made my lecture go by quickly. The exams are really nice because they're all multiple choice but there is a lot of information. He allows you to use notes for the last 20 minutes of an Exam which really helps.

Prof. Trier is a pretty good professor, but was not one of my favorites. His lectures are boring but I think it has more to do with the class material than the professor. Although there are only three options to choose from on multiple choice, the exams are tough, and they are the only points that are submitted for your grade in lecture.

Terry is awesome. I highly recommend him. He is very funny and light-hearted. Tests can be difficult if you do not study, but that is on you. Multiple choice only have 3 options. Very easy-going guy. He makes going to class enjoyable.

Trier is great! he is funny and he makes the class way less boring. Every test has 15 min open book open note. If you know the learning objectives you will be good.

Dr. Trier is hilarious! All the information on his exams are from his power points or assigned readings in the book, and you can easily get an A on them. He makes a lot of jokes when explaining the material and it is actually a useful tool in helping memorize information. He is always open to questions and he gives out candy! TAKE TRIER!!

Trier only teaches through power points which are mainly just bulks of information not organized very well. All of his exams are based on examples that he doesn't always make you aware of. Overall I would say if you take him concentrate on the examples more than the actual content, but his exams are not straight forward at all.

Pretty easy prof. He makes it clear what you need to know for exams. And the final is not comprehensive. Tests are all multiple choice (w/3 choices), true and false, and matching. His lectures aren't the most exciting thing in the world, but he tries to keep it interesting. I really enjoyed him, and would recommend him.

Trier is AWESOME! class is the most boring thing at GV, but Trier is Hilarious. He makes it very clear that he wold like to punch people in the back of the head who txt and walk. plus he likes to talk about college "adventures". He is the only prof for this class. Tests are a little hard but you get to use notes for 15 mins.

This class is very boring. The prof. is very scatterbrained during lecture and it is difficult to follow which topics go with which headings on the powerpoint. Tests are possible, but you must study and you need to do the readings to get an A. I wouldn't recommend this class with him.

He has really boring powerpoints that he doesn't post online. It is hard to understand which topics are under which subjects w/out seeing all the powerpoints written down. His exams are really hard b/c they go into more detail than he talks about in class. The averages for the exams were B-. Also it sucks that your grade is only 4 exams.

He is a GREAT teacher. He is the biggest goofball ever. His tests come straight from the objectives that he gives you and the tests are 100% multiple choice with only 3 choices!! AND you get the last 15 minutes to use your notes! Definitely take him!
