He is a really good Diff EQ teacher. Makes the material seem easy. There are 5 tests and a final. each test doesnt have to cover a lot of material.some multiple choice which get no partial credit and other questions he will give a lot of credit. Final is comprehensive, questions come straight from 5 tests. Final was harder than I thought.Take him.

took the online class for this summer and loved it! never took online before and i'm no good with math, but he had everything laid out. the online course has step-by-step examples and an unlimited amount of tries for the assignments. you work at your own pace. BOOK IS A MUST! take him if you can!

I graduated 1990 in Applied Math. Dr. Slaminka is the best professor I studied with at the university. He is interested in helping his students learn and loves math. Whether you are a math major or not, his enthusiasm for math is contagious. He even helped me with homework when I hunted him down at Denaro's one night!

Great Diff EQ teacher. Given the option, take his class. He makes the material easy to understand. The tests are just like the homework. He always has something entertaining to share, just ask him about the hedgehog.

Tests weren't too bad. The only problem i had with the class was multiple choice tests. I'm the kind of person who makes small errors frequently, and some of these problems are quite lengthy, so you will get no credit. He didn't honor the one appointment i set up with him either.

DE was great with Slaminka. He knows everyone isn't a math major, so he pretty much just works HW problems. Each test 8 questions very similar to the homework. He's pretty quirky which makes class fun and interesting. He also likes to tell random stories. We hardly ever stayed the entire 50 minutes, too. I would definitely recommend Dr. Slaminka.

I loved this class. That's dorky to say, but he made Diff EQ really interesting to me. I'm no genius, but I made 100+ on every test. Definitely go to class and attempt the homework--neither are required but both are extremely helpful if you want to make an A. If you're satisfied with a B or C, just go to class & take notes to study before the test.

Slaminka is a great teacher. He made Diff EQ really easy. He tells you EXACTLY what is going to be on the test. He does plenty of problems in class and doesn't waste too much time deriving useless things. Really great teacher who wants you to do well in his class. Oh, and we didn't have a final!

Slaminka is awesome! Had him for Differential Equations and he did everything he could to make the material as easy and understandable for the class as he could. He actually WANTS the students to do good. He tells you whats going to be on the tests and if you go to class and take notes (don't even have to do homework) you'll have no problem at all.

Slaminka is the man! His class wasn't TOO hard, definitely doable. My advisor said I would fail it because I didn't take calc in high school, but I got an A. It's not an easy A ,but if you go to class and take notes and do the practice tests you will be fine. I highly recommend taking him if you can.

This was NOT an online course, Slaminka taught the class every day. He is a funny, albeit strange, professor. Check out his webpage (auburn.edu/~slamiee) if you don't believe me. The class is not that hard. You do calculus for 3 weeks, then easy probability for the rest of the term. He makes the tests fairly easy and usually curves 10-15%.

First of all, he does not teach the class, he only makes out the mid-term and final. Then he requires that the midterm and final be atleast 50% of your grade. The tests are multiple choice which means you either get all or no credit. A short answer exam makes more sense to me. Hope for a good GTA or pray you dont have to take him.

First of all, do not take 1120 if it is the web based class. The quizzes you can take up to 3 times, and I took the tests on paper. It's easy if you can teach yourself math. He wasn't helpful at all even when I had questions, he just told me to go to the math tutor center he really just came off as a complete jerk. DON'T TAKE WEB BASED CLASS!!

I had him under a GTA and the midterm and final are extremly hard. I had a b but after the final I have a c. This class is definately a challenge. Try to get him and not a GTA.
