Comment:
He is a good teacher and interesting lecturer. It helped that I had a keen interest in this course (Philosophy of the Mind), but the material wouldn't have been the same without Professor Adams as a guide. There are required readings each week, but they are short. Definitely a great breadth elective to take!

lectures were so subjective based on his opinions and he made anyone that disagreed with his ideas feel inferior. the syllabus wasn't followed and there wasn't a clear grading rubric and the prof also didn't have a gradebook so you never knew you're standing in the class. the material isn't difficult but I wouldn't recommend this class to anyone

This professor is one of the worst I have ever had. The whole class is based upon the subjective view of other philosophers, which I did not like. Adams was unhelpful and poorly organized. I would not take a class with him if you are hoping for an easy, you won't get it.

Comment:
All of the readings are handed out in class, and the assignments are just announced in class. So even if you do attend regularly, it's hard to stay organized. A textbook and/or a website would be much appreciated. Lectures are just OK. Adams has a way of misunderstanding student questions and making them sound less insightful than they are.

Great class, great professor. Adams is very helpful and the lectures are interesting. The material can be confusing and the readings are difficult to understand at times. Not and easy A, but if you work hard it is definately attainable.

Hate to be the negative commenter but this was not a good class. Readings were very difficult even for a 300-level. They came with questions which you had to answer before discussions and were graded on accuracy so if you couldn't understand the material without the instruction of say a professor, then you got a poor grade. Nice & a little witty

Adams is really helpful and goes over key points many times, so if you don't understand something at first, his explanation will make the point clear. No textbook, just handouts, from which you answer ?s, worth 10 pts. He warns you the class before he gives a short quiz. 2 short papers and a final, worth 50 pts, low stakes. Great prof., fun class.

Lots of reading and writing; easy grading, but you have to read - class is discussion about the reading you did for homework, not lecture. Hands out readings, no textbook to buy.
