AWFUL! I took this class online and it was horrible. He provides powerpoints over the quiz topics, but these powerpoints are so difficult to understand. He words the questions on the quizzes WAYYY different than how he words stuff on his powerpoints. I actually corrected things on his pp's often. Khan Academy was the only thing that helped me pass.

The most unfair class I have ever taken. I am in the online section and there are these group blogs that he spells out the expectations for, but even when you follow them to a T, you still get scored very low. I felt confident before each exam, but my confidence was shattered because of the awkward wording and concepts that were never discussed.

Just like many of the other reviews said, his class is very difficult to pass. I know I am going to be retaking the class with someone else. His class structure is very different where he gives the students his notes and we bring the "homework" that isnt collected ready to be discussed. Often he would question his own notes. Exams cover too much

Dr. Richards has a different way of teaching, there is no lecturing. He gives you his notes and you do "homework" (not for a grade) and come to class prepared to answer those homework questions. The entire class is out of 300 points and is only quizzes, tests and participation. Participation pts are based on if you get the question right. Avoid.

Horrible! I took the online version, the Aplia reading and homework was informative. He gives instructions on group blogs then tells you its not good enough no matter what you put, or how often you post. His tests are NOT over material listed in syllabus. He is very rude if you ask questions and doesn't answer them, just chastises you for asking.

Took his class online. Rude and unhelpful. Syllabus is incorrect. Rarely lets you know when something is actually due (counter to his syllabus). Doesn't tell you what to read (surprise questions on hmework site on unassigned reading). Doesn't tell you what's on the tests. Subjective grading. Doesn't respond quickly or appropriately to emails.

"Dr. Richards" is very precise on what he wants, but he doesn't grade fairly. He is very liberal and tries to teach economics as such. A major part of the grade seemed to be opinions, and if your opinion did not suit his liberal agenda, then he did not give you a fair grade. His class seems to be graded more on "theories" than actual facts.

Richards was the worst prof I had while at ISU. he just didn't care about his students at all. I understand as an instructor now myself that students can be frustrating but this guy was the combination platter of rude, arrogant and condescending. Maybe it's because he's a borderline midget I'm not sure. Guell and Lotspeich are much better.

This guy is pompous, rude, and has no respect for his students. I asked him a few questions about this course and he offered no help and was very, very rude to me. If you don't desire to teach or help your students you shouldn't have gotten into this field. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS

If like me, you are required to take this course, I would recommend taking it online. Yes the material can be difficult, but as long as you apply yourself and attempt to do well on the exams, you will pass this course. I took this class in the spring for 2013 and am now taking 201 online with the same teacher this Fall. YOU CANNOT FAIL!

As an Economic major, I learned more from this dude than every other professor put together. He's brilliant and you'll learn a lot quickly. He's highly intellectual. You have to TRY to be the same way. You'll sink if you don't.

If you are an active learner do not take this class. He does not take attendance so it makes it hard for you to want to come to class, simply because you know that all he does is lecture and class will NEVER be cancelled. NO BOOK just notes, his markers never work properly. Your grade is based off of 3-4 exams that's all. NO STUDY GUIDES OR REVIEW!

Dr. Richards is an excellent professor. He packs a lot of knowledge into each class period. The class is quite difficult because of this, but he is very willing to help out during his office hours. With a little bit of hard work, this is a very rewarding class.

Ok he is really hard and talks A LOT. You will never get out of class early... BUT... if you are having problems and you go to him for help then you will see a completely different side of him. He was very helpful and further explain the lectures to me. All in All he was a good professor... just alil hard to deal with.

The most boring teacher I've ever had. The only good thing about the class is the huge grade curve which is a must because everyone would fail if there wasn't one. NEVER LETS OUT EARLY! TESTS ARE DAMN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE.
