Hodson is such a nice person but he does not teach the material during lectures. Reading the book on your own is a MUST. There is no final, which is a good thing and he gives 25 point weekly quizzes on one chapter. The quizzes aren't impossible but they aren't easy. It is definitely possible to get a good grade if you just read the book

Nice man, but a horrible teacher. He doesn't actually teach at all in this class. He just talks about random stuff that he finds interesting. He gives weekly quizzes that are on little, unimportant details in the textbook. Very hard to get a good grade. The only bonus in this class is that there was no final.

Passionate about biology, but a horrible teacher. If at all possible avoid this class. He teaches lecture with no plan what so ever and gives weekly quizs on the most minute details from the textbook that he never went over in class. Nice man, but do not take his class.

Hodson is one of the nicest professors I have had, but he is just not a good teacher. In class he lectures on no specific concept. He does give weekly quizzes, but some of the material he quizzes on he has not gone over in class and it's not in the book. I would not recommend him.

Hodson is certainly the nicest bio teacher I've ever met, which is why it pains me to say he's not the best of teachers. His weekly quizzes are do-able, but he barely covers material in class, which make his classes lengthly and unbearable. Study the textbook as well as you can, but that's not enough preparation. His notes and discussion = useless.

Hodson is a very approachable and helpful man. The class is very hard though and it is not an easy A. You must work hard, but if you show interest your grade will not be around a B.

I LOVE Dr Hodson. He is definitely one of my favorite teachers at UD. I took him for 207 and I am in 208 right now (both honors sections though). The weekly quizzes are tricky and require a ton of reading the book/studying. I would take him though! He even said last semester he wanted to adopt all of his honors section because he loved us so much!

Took this class Honors, a bit difficult, but absolutely worth it. Prof. Hodson is ADORABLE! He really cares about his subject and is extremely passionate, especially about plants. I would absolutely take his class again and am going to in the spring. quizzes are hard, but not impossible, and there is no final, just a lab final. i highly recommend!

Lots of reading required for this class. No need to actually attend lecture because nothing you are quizzed on comes from it. Read the book and you'll be fine. No final, and grades come from weekly quizzes rather than 3 exams. Lab final is ridiculous to be sure to study. Very approachable man!

Most adorable man ever. His quizzes are very do-able, but you need to read the book to do well. Extremely approachable, and it is very beneficial to get to know him personally. I LOVE HIM!

Hodson is the sweetest man ever. He really wants his students to do well and gives them of opportunities to do so. I really liked that he gave our class a quiz every week on 1 or 2 chapters instead of 3 huge exams. Also, his system of outlining the chapters as homework assignments really forced you to learn the information.

Cutest man I ever met. Rambles a lot, but only because he loves the subject. Goes off on random tangents. His classes don't matter. His tests come straight from the book. So read and outline during class, and don't pay attention. I got an A. You Must like bio though to pay attention to the massive reading.

Class really isnt that bad, he really loves what he is teaching and knows it very very well. He is difficult to follow and take notes from because he does not put notes up he just talks. He provides slides on webct but most of them are just figures right out of the book. Tests are all multiple choice but only 40 questions and very tricky! Good luck

He's really a nice guy. He absolutely LOVES what he is teaching and really does know the material like the back of his hand. He'll sometimes go off on random tangents about some things, and sometimes spend the first few minutes of class talking about nonesense. I'd reccomend not taking him though, as it's impossible to take notes from him.

He is horribly unclear, and also the most disorganized teacher I have ever met. If you're stuck in the first lab of the week, be prepared to be the guinea pig for lots of random ideas that will thoroughly waste your time and not make any sense. It was honors but still easy for me. He's also biased, even though I had an A he told me I should drop

hodson sucks at life. after taking bio in 8th grade and ap bio in 10th, i came into this class with a pretty good knowledge of the material, yet he still yelled at me for my lack of biological background. he's impossible to pay attention to, and if your grades make him look bad, he has no problem letting you know that he thinks you're a failure.

Not only does this professor have the inability to articulate an intelligent discussion, but after a few awkard/offensive occurences in class, I came to the realization that he is the quintessential bigot. Also, the class is worthless, considering his lecture puts any intelligent person to sleep.

Fantastic old man! He likes to talk about trans fats a lot, and if you're lucky he'll show up to lab in full spandex. He doesn't really teach a whole lot in class but his tests are pretty flexible and fair. I love Hoddy!
