Comment:
MJ Hudson is enthusiastic about his field, I'll give him that. But he's very rude and condescending! His lecture slides are terrible; there's really no point in going to class. There's very little information in them, and you're expected to basically learn everything yourself from the textbook. Interesting material though.

Comment:
Course is easy and interesting. He's an okay prof. Concepts are explained fair enough if you have some high school physics. Not a prof. I would not recommend but he's not bad either. Doesn't seem to like students much though.

Very good lectures and notes, explains concepts clearly and intuitively and is very knowledgeable about the subject. Challenging but interesting assignments, could be slightly more helpful during office hours. Tests were moderately difficult, but fair.

Comment:
Brutal assignments. Mediocre midterm. Impossible final. Not very good at explaining concepts (such as algorithms), even in office hours. Didn't do any example code. Textbook was okay. "Project" was around 40 to 50 hours of work and was poorly explained. Many required functions were discovered using Google. AND I LEARNED NOTHING.

Comment:
Was extremely interested in Astronomy. It was brutal to stay awake in his class. Half the class was asleep during his 2 hour lectures. Hudson knows his stuff but the slides were useless and he relied too heavily on the textbook. Online assignment every week and a written one every 2 weeks. Probably the last course I'll take with this prof.

Comment:
Pretty dumb course. Expected it to be a "Survey Course". Got a full blown Physics course. Lots of work (online quiz and an assignment and a Observing Project). Avoid the trouble and take it online. Less work and at least you can stay awake. Professor was enthusiastic and seems to love astro but I couldn't seem to stay awake in his classes.

Arrogant... Don't expect to turn to him for help and not get mocked in the process, he politely insults you... Unhelpful, the level of difficulty of his tests were beyond the introductory level for 1st year, long and painful course...

Lectures sucked, and the choice of textbook wasn't that great either. The final exam wasn't too bad, but this course is really hard if you have no programming experience.

Very enthusiastic prof. Posts all the notes online. This is an excellant course, very interesting. If you are an astronomy nerd like myself, the course is free marks. No final, done with 2 weeks remaining. Short, Easy assignments each week. 2 tests.

His voice makes me want to kill myself. And his notes are basically none existent. All he does is derive equations over, and over that are specific to one question so really become obselete after the class. Isn't helping me pass the class whatsoever!
