Comment:
Professor Kernan claims to be understanding but then refuses to hear you out when you talk about anything going on in your life that might prevent you from doing work. Semester long group that you cannot change out of so if your group sucks, so will your grade. Homeworks are fairly easy and weekly quizzes are more of an annoyance than helpful.

I took BUAD309 online. We were given all the homework for each module and were able to do it on our own time. Homework assignments had a clear rubric and were not hard. The exams were open notes and multiple choice and also weren't hard. If you want to do well you have to read but I would recommend this class with Prof Kernan.

To be fair, this was a hybrid class before even going online. Students teach themselves and then meet to do group work 1x/week. You have to show up for each class or grade will drop dramatically. It really wasn't bad until you didn't understand something, because you'd fail the quiz and be dead weight in group work -- no lectures ever...

She does not teach anything. She shows very little respect towards her students. Class meets once a week and the only thing you do is meet with your group. Easy class with no exams, just weekly quizzes.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE, extremely tedious amount of homework with ridiculously tough grading. If you're looking to spend hours studying and writing paragraphs with useless length requirements just to end up having points half your points taken off for missing one requirement then this is the class for you.

This woman is not nice and actually quite rude. Lacks respect for every student and has no patience or empathy it seems. Told us that wifi not working wasn't an excuse even though we are completely online due to a national pandemic which in its own is absolutely absurd. The only reason I would recommend this class is because there are no exams.

Dr. Kernan is good. Show up and participate and you are fine. Weekly modules, includes 1 homework assignment and one quiz. The entire semester is you working in a group to answer questions on material regarding the assigned module for the week. No exams. Easy A if you show up and work.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR'S CLASS. I felt like a was in a high school business class. She talks down to the students and doesn't teach at all. The only thing you do in class is team assignments and the skills and info you need to use for these assignments are expected to be learned outside of the classroom since it is hybrid.

Excellent HRM professor who really works to have students participate and understand current HR issues and concepts. 3 kinda hard for me exams make up the bulk (65%) of grades which is really my only complaint, but participation is relatively easy to do, and the project just needs to be a bit intensive in order to get a decent grade.

Only grades are 3 tests, 2 write ups and attendance. Lectures are dull and boring. Tests are hard and never gives a review sheet or practice problems. You get 2 free attendance misses. You think the material is easy until the tests. Studied so hard for the tests and never did well. I never read the textbook, kinda regret, maybe it would of helped

Would not recommend. Makes the material extremely dull and boring. Do not take this class with her. Often she is rude and condescending in class. Tests are hard, but manageable.

She makes the materials seem easy (she was really straight forward) but the exams are incredibly tricky. Study from her slides, make sure you really understand the materials, participate in class a lot and you should be fine, maybe.

I'm going to be completely non-biased during this review. Ar first, I hated this class because you actually have to put in a lot of work. You need to print out tons of articles for each class and participate in class always. Tests are hard but fair. If you study for a week before the test you will do fine. Study her slides NOT the book.

She's a naturally tough grader with high expectations. I would've done a lot worse in the class had the second midterm not been take-home, because the tests are pretty difficult (30 or 40 multiple choice, and a few long paragraph response questions which weren't a walk in the park). Fairly helpful, available for office hours, but a tough course.

Very knowledgable and understands the class material really well. Boring topic, but she does a good job relating it to the real world. Has very high expectations, especially for honors students, so grades harshly. Really makes you earn your grade, but she's nice and knows her stuff.

Online class, very difficult. If you ask the teachers questions one of them will get back with you very quickly. Assignments are very easy but make sure you follow the directions completely. Tests are worth so many points that even if you get 100% on all assignments and EC you still need to get a good grade on the tests to be able to pass.

Not really sure why she gets such a bad rep. It might be cause the subject itself is boring. I dont get why people complain about participation, its easy and she sees that you are trying to do well. A lot of boring material to memorize, but the tests arent impossible. Read the textbook, study the slides and you will be fine.

Class is extremely boring and she just reads from the slides. Tests are unbelievably hard and everyone fails. No curve. She also will fail you for participation, even if you contribute. DO NOT TAKE
