After this course you'll never want to hear the word "prompt" again. Although he doesn't expect you to buy textbooks, write exams, or tests or take notes.. Expect to have to go to plays and hate your life. You also get to spend all your time online posting on his moodle. Bizzare, but fairly easy marks. Guaranteed a B if you show up and work.

Russ Hunt is the strangest person I have ever me. I honestly think he considers his class to be the only one of any value. He piles on the class work, it is never actually graded, only one point if you do it or not. He loves moodle so much you'd think the man invented it. 8 or more hours of course work on ridiculous things. STAY AWAY FROM RUSS

Worst prof ever. Russ is really a nice guy, however, that does not make up for horrible teaching methods and incomprehensible "prompts". If you are thinking of taking the page and the stage my suggestion is don't bother.

WOW! people are harsh! he's not THAT bad. I agree that his methods are hard to handle some times but if you just accept it and learn his methods early you'll do fine. it's a lot of work, but ti's not hard at all.

Most useless class I have ever taken. The material is interesting, but I'd might as well not be in university. He doesn't teach. There aren't lectures. He pulls your marks out of a hat. He only talks to you through prompts. All you do is keep a journal all semester. I would not recommend it, it's a high risk class if you want to keep a high GPA.

I have to disagree with the previous statement. Yes, he knows a lot about the 18th Century-- because he specializes in it. He piles on a ton of work every week, and never seems satisfied with our results. Avoid this professor unless you're prepared to work 8+ hours per week outside of class. I'm avoiding this professor from now on.

Russ is nice but it doesn't make up for his terrible teaching methods. He's arrogant, unclear and if you ask him a question he quotes his incomprehensible prompts and acts like you're stupid. We spent the 3/4 of the YEAR studying psych articles on the net.I feel like I should take another intro to lit class because this one was completely useless.

russ hunt is the most confusing person i have ever met. on the first day of class he set up criteria for the semester...and half way through once everyone had done it all, he changed his mind. he 'promised' people marks if they did extra work but like that happened. very arrogant, it's his way or no way type deal. bizarre teaching methods too

This is the easiest class you'll ever take, I got a C in it, but it's my fault. All he expects of you is to fill in about five comments a week. It doesn't matter what you write, it's just that you write them! So don't be confused, plug in every comment during the year, write a decent exam-synthesis, and you will get A.

I had no clue what to do and Russ as no help to me at all, he told me to ask someone in class to help me, but I didn't know anyone at all. I loved going to the plays though, that was the only good part of the class.

This was the worst class I took at STU. He was a horrible professor and was very unclear. We had to do a insane amount of work for every class and didn't even get marks for it. I still do not understand his marking system. He is sneaky and trys to make his own course evaluations so the university won't see how much he sucks!

russ is a very smart man, tries to help his students, but he is so smart i think he finds it hard to come down to our level, meaning, he talks to us like we know as much as he does, i enjoyed his class, even though his voice can put you to sleep, but generally a good prof.

I really dislike this course,I find the work load overwhelming and you dont get marked for anything. Recommended if you are VERY interested in 18thC and like to spent a lot of time at the hil.Nothing gets graded, unconventional, not for everybody.lot of computer and internet work. Confusing prompts

I really hate his class. He won't give students credit for their work. He posts your "minimum" mark online with your name beside it for the world to see. When I confronted him he avoided the question. He doesn't teach, he wants us to make up lesson plans for him because he is to lazy to do it.

What you get out of the course depends on what you put into it.Russ is extremely unconventional. If you like regurgitating information and writing essays, then it's not for you because that's not what you'll be doing. he doesn't dictate what you learn. this is an independant thinking class.ilovedit.
