Comment:
DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROFESSOR. Does not post all lecture slides, tests are very tough (his questions on exams are not to be found in your notes), if you have a second option go for the second option. Not the greatest prof.

Mark is good as a lab instructor but I have been told by other students that have taken his classes to stay away from him when choosing lecture courses.

If you are new to the University life, sensitive and used to getting your hand held and/or getting catered to you by your previous high school teachers, then do not take a class with him. Prof. Krawetz is straightforward, organized, hilarious and a tough grader. Ask questions & you will get your answers! I loved his nerdy lectures!

Comment:
Mark Krawetz is a good professor. His lectures are engaging and he is always willing to help students outside of class. His lecture tests are fairly simple so long as you study and take notes. Labs can be tough as he does not clearly convey assignment expectations. He is willing to give marks if you talk to him about it.

Extremely rude, condescending and generally unhelpful.. I heard he is retiring soon though! I had him for Atmos Sci and Earth Sci Lab and in both he was not willing to discuss the format or what would be included on any exams. Also, you could only go see him to ask questions during very specific office hours (ex.7:30-8:45am) difficult for no reason

Comment:
This lab is incredibly hard, he barely gives any direction and expects you to know what he's talking about. He's actually pretty mean, rude, and makes things way harder then they needed to be. His assistant Nadine on the other hand is precious, sweet and incredibly helpful! My advice is to make yourself a little group in the lab & work together.

Comment:
Way too challenging for an introductory course! Lectures are sometimes confusing and not even related to the midterms. Mr. Krawetz makes the general concepts harder than it should be, and not concise on the material he is teaching. BEWARE of unrelated concepts and ideas thrown in your face during the lecture.

Avoid taking Introductory courses with him! Lectures are dry and boring, but he also expects you to know irrelevant material from the lectures. He is rude and not very approachable! Do not take any of his classes.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I DOT NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLASS! Mr. Krawetz is extremely rude, he is very condescending and should take some communicationsocial interactions etiquette classes. "Will treat you like garbage and talk down to you, apparently asking for help means your stupid in his opinion" #shavethestash

Mark was arrogant and rude. He got angry at a student the first day of lab because she forgot a protractor. Our midterms were handed back on my birthday (sorry I wasn't in class) and he asked me to review the attendance policy and pick it up from his office. He needs to get off of his high horse and tune into the real world.

Class average for exam was barley a C, gives no feed-back, expected to read everything he gives you, memorize everything maps, readings, power point slides, ****must go to every class. Would not recommend. I would rather watch paint dry than listen to the course material as it is extremely uninteresting.

I had taken my Earth Science lab with him and although I received an An in his lab, virtually every time I had a question I would ask his assistant because 1. He is not very approachable 2. He is somewhat vague.

Comment:
Not that he is a bad professor, but unless you love the subject, the class feels like a drag. He is nice and enthusiastic and really tries to make it fun, but his sense of humor is of another generation. There is too much information, too much memorization, requires a lot of studying. All info you will never use unless you stay in the field.

Overall good prof. He makes lectures interesting and occasionally shows movies, but pay close attention to them as he asks tricky questions from them on the exam. If you want a great mark make sure you read the text as he doesn't go over everything that will be on the exam in class. Verystrict on deadlines but clearly passionate on what he teaches

A very good prof, if you need help he is great one on one the only problem with him is he is very busy and does not have too much time. Easy grader but come to his lectures as they are extremely helpful and he is a great and clear lecturer. He makes labs and a lot of other topics fun. Take his class

Way too challenging for an intro course, only time I've ever gotten below a B. I did better in Data Analysis and I have no math background. He seems interested but isn't interesting.
