Group projects are just group assignments in class. Lecture heavy because i didn't read the textbook much, until the end. Read it if you want a better grade. It's as if he doesn't want to disappoint his students, which i find heartwarming. He's like a funny grandfather. He's always smiling and enthusiastic about his stories or lectures.

His midterms and final exams are pretty tough, if you don't study there's no way you'll pass. Exams are based off of powerpoint slides. He make sure you really read through the slides carefully because he will give questions on ANYTHING. He's very approachable and willing to help with whatever you need. Pretty funny guy.

He's a friendly person who is very positive. His slides usually have mistakes. The cultural Anth section of the course was somewhat interesting, however the linguistic portion was a nightmare that even stumbleupon couldn't quell. definite GPA booster.

Great prof. Interesting lectures. Decided not to use the text due to it's skyrocketing price. Incredibly accommodating. Tells you exactly what's going to be on the exam. Clear guidelines, clear expectations. Passionate about what he's teaching. Very approachable. Concerned with student well being. etc etc. Great prof.

Pretty funny old guy, lots of entertaining stories to accompany lectures. First half of the course was cultural anthropology, super interesting. Second half was all linguistics, really boring.

Amazing prof! He is definitely the best prof I've ever had, easy marker, great explanations & you can truly see his passion through his teaching. Willing to help you whenever, and very, very considering of your other life priorities. Intro to Cultural anthro was a GREAT and easy elective by him which made me want to take a 2nd year course with him.

I think he is a great professor, he's funny, likes to make things as simple as possible, he tells you everything you need to know for the tests as long as you show up. An easy marker, kind of senile, but that adds charm.

Terribly boring, dull. I will do everything in my power to never take one of his classes ever again. The only good part is all lectures are posted online. Other than that, terrible.

Not a bad teacher, super easy marker, 2 750wrd papers, first test was easy. the final is not cumulative. he's a bit of a bore. sitting in class is pretty brutal but he puts all of the notes online so you dont have to go to class. hes a bit of a scatterbrain. overall: not bad at all.

He's a great professor in his teaching and knows his stuff. Hes more organized now then he has been. His major flaw is the workload he expected in this class. I needed to learn Phonemes, sentence structure, language types, grammar breakdown, and much more. Its a lot when you go in expecting a snooze fest. His classes were interesting.

Overall Fulford is ok guy, but this class was brutal. Should have been named comparative linguistics, not Anth of Language. Fulford was very unorganized and I'd question if he even liked teaching this class. You need to keep a dictionary handy for his essays. Not very clear directions. Beware his translation exercises!

Linguistics disguised as Anthropology. Isn't that clever.... and a waste of my money. Really nice guy until you get to know him.
