Weekly quizzes that are very straightforward, but the tests are hard. Chris is very accessible and makes class enjoyable (as enjoyable as calc 2 can be). The MPODS are exactly like the tests and quizzes, so definitely do those, but don't waste your time with the textbook problems.

Chris was a very funny professor who always made himself or TAs available for extra help. Class time was used very well, and the time needed for external studying for the weekly quizzes was minimal. He drops your worst quiz and doubles your best test (not the final though), which can really boost your grade. One of my favorite classes so far.

Funny guy. Online learning presented its challenges but definitely manageable. Do MPODS for quiz prep but nearly memorize tough Qs from previous tests. Office hours were super helpful - find the SI(s) that works for you (like explains things in a way u understand if confused bc some of them do math their own way lol). Hard workers will do fine.

His office hours are really helpful and he's a sweet guy. I struggled a lot because of the lack of partial credit when it came to online learning (seemingly for no reason). Do the MPODS to prep for weekly quizzes. Previous tests aren't as helpful if you're taking it online but the reviews are. The SIs are also pretty nice if you have questions.

He is very good at explaining difficult concepts. He guides people well towards the material that they need to cover and practice to prepare well for the tests. Reading the textbook is optional but recommended. He also posts practice problems after every lecture and working through those problems is very important for success in the class.

Chris is a great guy and I think if I liked math I would have enjoyed his class more. His class moves quickly and there are weekly quizzes so be prepared for that. If you are online, tests will have no partial credit, which can hurt your grade quite a bit. When I was struggling he was quick to help me. There are few grades so do well on tests+quiz.

Even over zoom, his lectures were still good and he's a funny guy. Quizzes are very easy, but the tests were more difficult. He posts a ton of practice exams and reviews which were helpful. Do the MPODS!

Chris is an awesome professor, but his tests are HARD if you are not the best at math (especially test 3). I recommend doing the MPODS like everyone else says but for the tests also do problems from previous tests. Go to office hours, and if you still don't understand something, watch the Organic Chemistry Tutor's videos on YouTube.

Truly a one-of-a-kind math teacher. By far the best in the math department (although that doesn't really say a whole lot tbh). Do the MPODs and the homework problems in the textbook and you should be fine. Some topics are harder than others, but he will gladly explain them to you if you need help.

Hilarious and sarcastic. His personality and teaching style takes a while to get used to but he's a great lecturer. He makes the concepts easy to understand despite moving so quickly. Tests and quizzes are fair and he has a lot of practice exams and reviews for you. There are always a lot of office hours if you have questions.

Chris has a reputation for being super chill, which is true. But if you're taking this intro course, plan to go to the SI sessions because he isn't the best at explaining concepts. Really cool guy though imo

He teaches slow and it's pretty easy to understand so that's great! Make sure you do the quizzes well, those are pretty much the bulk of your grade. However, he is an average teacher really, nothing special but he is loved because he is often funny in a childish way.

I guess people think he's funny. He knows his stuff. But, if you don't have a super solid foundation of Calculus, and you aren't the fastest learner, he's not helpful and his TA's sucked.

Chris was one of the best teacher I've ever had. Quizzes were not hard. Understand and work through, then you'll be fine. Tests were okay, but final was tough. As long as you pay attention, it's easy to get an A.

He is a great guy, the first professor I met at Case. Everyone loves him for his sense of humor, and he is actually pretty funny sometimes. However, his tests are ridiculously hard compared to the homework assigned, and you will typically find problems on the test that did not have similar material covered in class. I had an A+ in high school calc.

Butler is an amazing teacher, he does so many examples in class and the HW isn't too bad. Sometimes the quizzes were a bit tricky, but if you do the MPODs and ask for help outside of class if you're struggling, it's not too bad. Calculus II is a very hard subject to learn in college, but Butler does his best to help his students understand.

Chris was one of the best professors I've had at Case. He always explained with simple examples to understand easier. There was homework from textbook, but it was optional. DO MPODS!!! Those were really useful!! Quizzes were not bad, and tests were fair enough. Do extra credits if you want. Highly recommend and love him a lot!!!

I loved him as a person but hated his tests. I feel they don't really represent how well you know the material. I've always did well in math until his class.
