It is true that she gives heavy lectures with minimal aids. One of the biggest challenges you will have with her is your stamina to last during these lectures. This is why it is necessary to do the readings and actively ask her questions. If you do that, you will be fine. She is also truly caring and understanding if you need help/struggling

Not too many people respected her as a teacher. She was always concerned with people cheating on non graded quizzes in which we had 2. You dont have to read anything but you will be commented on to make comments. Not allowed to wear hats or write in blue ink. She says things but never backs her consequences such as late work. There is no such thin

I've never had a professor be so unprepared for a subject they are a "master" in. Lectures are consistently full of contradictions and awkward pauses like she doesn't know how to describe a topic. Get ready to have some of the most unclear prompts for essays and then low grades when you don't say exactly what she wants you to. Avoid this class!!

WORST PROFESSOR EVER. Do not take her unless absolutely necessary! No clear grading criteria and grades you as if you were a religion major. Expects way too much from students that have never taken a religion course before. Also she gets really frustrated when students ask her a question and she just expects you to know everything.

Dr. Salgado seems like a nice person, but she is a terrible professor. She always contradicts herself when shes teaching. Whenever someone answers a question she finds a way to say that it is wrong, only to say the exact same thing later. She doesnt give a rubric or clear instructions on papers, but then grades them very harshly. Dont take her

Salgado is a nice person, however she gets too caught up in details that are irrelevant. She puts too much emphasis on memorizing Buddhist terms instead of actually learning the religion. She will also send out three emails on Saturday nights about class discussion topics which are unnecessarily long. I would avoid taking her class at all costs.

Avoid her at all costs. She's not a bad person but is an awful professor. She contradicts herself constantly, expects you to immediately understand complex primary texts, and thinks her class should take priority over every other course you're taking. Also beware of classes co-taught by her; she consistently takes time away from the other professor

I am now a junior at Augustana College and I have not felt the need to rate a professor until I saw all the poor ratings from other students. As long as you do your readings, pay attention during lecture, etc., you will do great. She is an awesome professor who is really passionate about what she teaches. I definitely recommend.

My first time posting on here ever. Dont take this professor. She teaches in a very confusing way and you dont understand what she it teaching and then tries to blame why you dont understand on not doing the reading Assigns assignments that are not listed in the syllabus. And gives mostly busy work that has not input to the class

She's really not all that bad. She is very kind and actually makes it pretty easy to visit her out of class. I don't think she is very clear but her test are so easy. I never had a class I never wanted to attend but it's not horrible. She's nice, test are easy, all you have to do is try. Talk to her if you don't understand.

This class really opened me up to new perspectives about the world and other religions. People only think she is bad because they aren't disciplined enough to put work so that they can have success in the class. Sometimes classes need to be outside of your comfort zone and that's ok.

Never imagined writing my own review but this prof was SO bad I felt an obligation to warn future students. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS. THE worst teacher I've EVER had. She contradicts herself all the time, is extremely unclear, makes easy concepts way harder than they need to be, super picky, takes so many points off for the dumbest things. SHE SUCKS!!

Horrible professor and plays favorites. Can be rather unreasonable and is not personable nor interested in you. It is her paper and not yours. If you don't use all of her ideas you won't pass

We spent the first few weeks of class studying plagiarism... when our topic was supposed to be eastern religion. She constantly makes changes to the syllabus, and forgets to tell her students important criteria for an assignment.

I could not believe she made to Augi as a Professor. She has ZERO teaching skills. She always stress on email her only on Friday night. She takes forever to explain one simple darn thing. Most of the time she treats students like a 4-grader. Someone should complain to the department for a replacement. Avoid if you can.

Honestly one of the most boring teachers out there. Not only painful to sit through the lectures but always being called out randomly for no reason is so unnecessary. Best of luck to whoever takes this class. It sucked. The rest of the characters to specify my feelings about the class are not even worth the time.

Very knowledgeable on what she teaches, loves when students participate in discussions and ask questions. Very helpful with papers if you are willing to put forth the effort and go talk to her. Genuinely interested in the students and pushes you do go beyond what you though you were capable of.
