I took his Making Shakespeare colloquium and thoroughly enjoyed it. The class is entirely discussion-based, so you gotta participate. Only a few papers (nothing compared to other honors English classes) and they're very straightforward. He's very relatable and a reasonable grader, and I would definitely take another class with him in the future.

Matt is tough grader at first but gives good feedback. His classes are very discussion heavy but sometimes enjoyable. He gave us multiple group project but that could just be for my specific class. He a solid english professor with a good sense of humor. Many papers assigned but they were never over 6 pages.

Kinservik was a great teacher! He is very knowledgeable and insightful. There were a lot of papers and group assignments; he isn't the worst grader, but make sure your work is up to par. He is always helpful and willing to give feed back! He is a very nice man and always made class fun for us. I would easily take another one of his classes!

he's a really cool teacher and as long as you pat attention in class you will do fine on the exams. no paper and everything he says in class will be on the exam but you can get by without reading unless you like participating in class. over all he's a really cool professor

Do your readings, take good notes on what he says in class and ESPECIALLY what he writes on the board! He is always available to help you out, and it is a pretty interesting class. He makes class fun and has a good sense of humor, I highly recommend taking his class.

Definitely one of the hardest classes I have taken. He really expects a lot from you. There were two tests and four 4-5 page papers. He is definitely a great lecturer, but it was a very challenging course. Be prepared to work hard for a good grade.

again: take extremely detailed notes... basically write everything he says and pay attention in class because it's an easy way to ace his exams -- it's really not that difficult. when it comes to papers, though, it takes a lot to impress him. still, he's a great guy, willing to help, and really funny in class. :) i'd def recommend him!

he's a VERY tough grader when it comes to papers, but i've met with him after every one and he was so willing to help me out in improving. he takes attendance every class, and it's possible to not read any of the text and still ace the exams if you take pretty detailed notes on what he says and covers in class. he's also pretty witty and funny. =)

Nice guy, really interested in British Literature. Liked going to class because it helped me understand the poetry we had to read. Tests are easy if you study, but the grading for essays is so hit-or-miss-I first got an A+ followed by a C-but at least for our class he let our last paper be a revision. Nice guy and fun class but work hard on essays!

He spends class time summarizing the texts. It becomes very boring and monotonous! Tests are very straight forward and are easy if you take very good notes and study them. Watch out though, because he will actually give "F's" on papers that complete the task. Many students in my class were very frustrated with his grading on essays.

Great class and teacher. I dont know why people are ****ing about him. He makes his lessons very clear so you know what he will test you on. just read and dont complain about it because it IS an english class and you wont do well without being prepared. His exams are fair and he gives opportunities for extra credit.

He was nice and attempted to make lecture easier by putting the context of the text in a funny way to remember, but exams were somewhat hard. Gives you like 10 questions in a sectiona and says chose 7, but you know only 5. Think he would be better as a nonlecture hall prof. Engl205 in Sharp 130 was not a good idea.

Brit. Lit I. took the class this semester very difficult and sporadic. Also do the readings! He'll randomly question the class as a whole and if no one did the reading, like on my last day of class 12/7/05. He got pissed and up and left, left us to finish the piece on our own. WTF... I highly suggest not taking him.

Took this class in a big lecture hall.there were 3exams which were extremely hard. He would have us analyze random passages from different works and then tore our writing apart when he returned our bluebooks.30% of the class failed an exam and he thought that he should make the final harder. What an ****. He thinks everyone is an english major.

He changed the way I think, he taught me how to really do research, and helped me write clearly and convincingly. He is extraordinarily friendly, welcoming, and intelligent- tied for one of my best two professors ever.

Class is interesting. The tests are extremely easy as long as you sit there and listen during class... you will need to know important dates and facts, but he may as well be jumping up and down when he comes accross them in lectures.
