This is a very test heavy course. You are graded on your tests more than your ability to public speak. You spend more time practicing vocab and learning concepts of outlining than practical speeching techniques. If you are good at taking the test this class is definitely for you!

This teacher is one of the worst teachers I've ever had. You must read the textbook to get a decent grade for the exams. His feedback is very short and not specific. He never responded to my emails. There was an incident where a student was left out of their group and he never addressed the problem. Good luck reading his writing on the whiteboard.

His online course would not recommend taking it. At the start, there are chapters 1-17 that are in the grade book but by week 4 he took 6-11 out of it even though I already did it for no reason. If it's late he gives you no points at all, won't let you redo anything and takes forever to grade.

Strict about policies, but for all the right reasons. A great lecturer and uses great examples and analogies when explaining topics and ideas. Do your speeches and quizzes, be engaged during lecture, and dont tick him off and you will have a fine time in class.

There are far more helpful speech teachers to take. I will say that he was funny at times, but he was very arrogant. He never took into account my growth as a speaker, which I felt should have been reflected in my grade. I definitely learned a lot from this class, but he made it harder than necessary for a low-level course.

Took the intense 5-week course. Great instructor; clearly lays out expectations for getting good grades. Follow the criteria for each speech TO THE LETTER. He responds to questions quickly and offers fair assessments on the speeches (I deserved each grade he gave me). The mid-term is okay, final was TOUGH. Be ready for that final! Would take again!

Mr. Cue was a fair grader, but he didn't favor everyone in the class. His criteria is clear, but you have to put in a lot of effort to succeed. Make sure to study for his exams, because they are harder than you'd think! Speech isn't my favorite, but he graciously gave me a B even after I failed a speech. Don't go over time on your speeches!!!

I took a VERY intense 5 week course, but this class was pretty good. the hardest part was having to read the entire textbook in that time. don't worry too much about how you sound in your speech, but do the outline and all required parts of it.

This was the worst instructor I have had thus far. This is an intro class and he expects you to know what to do without any instruction from him. His comments on your speech are very critical and unhelpful. He is defiantly NOT a teacher more like a dictator!

So far I am not doing so well. It is weird because I am also taking Business and Communication which has the same subject matters and I am getting an A in that class so I am not really sure what the deal is. Also, the software he uses to run the class is confusing... I did not get credit for two assignments because I couldn't even find them!!!

Summer classes. Just glad I made it out with a C. I'm an awful public speaker & he was no help. He would seem short/kind of rude when dealing with you. Expectations were pretty ridiculous/lofty. He was always sloppy & rumpled. Hard for me to take his pretentious attitude/poor criticism skills seriously if he has such low hygiene standards. Gross.

Bill Cue is great. He is very helpful if you have questions on your speeches, and the class is very enjoyable. For speeches, make sure you put effort into your outlines and practice them out loud before delivering them in class. The online quizzes are easy, but don't fall behind on them.

At first, I felt he applied way too much in an intro speech class. However, Mr. Cue is a good teacher, and I did learn a lot in his class. He is a tough grader & has high expectations. Make sure you do your speech outlines & cite your sources, as well as study for his exams. If you do those 3 things, you'll be fine.

Do not take his class unless you are a true scholar who wants to know all there is to know about public speaking. Please heed my warning and take another professor's class for what should be the easiest class you take at MCC. If you're still interested though, get ready to read the entire text book and know all definitions as well as application.

Five speeches, 16 online quizzes, and two tests. He's a very tough grader. If you miss a day you give a speech you have to bring in an audience of fifteen people to watch you give a speech. Most people only take this class because they have to and he understood that at least. Take a different instructor if you can, my class didn't enjoy him at all!

This was a difficult class, 1) I hate to give speeches 2) Cue has very high expectations, however, when it comes down to it, he is a pretty easy grader. I will say, I learned a great deal in this class. If you need to learn effective public speaking skills, take his class, if you just need meet the requirement, take another instructor.

He understands that public speaking is really hard for some people and gives you some slack when your nerves are everywhere. Grades content of your speech. Bad at communication which is ironic. Impromptu speeches are hard. Make sure you do your outlines!

This teacher is William "Bill" Cue. DO NOT take this class unless you want to teach yourself and take impossible to pass tests. He only spent maybe 3 days actually teaching and the rest was read your online book and do the quizes. PASS ON THIS TEACHER!!!

I took his 5-week speech class and received an A. Grueling work, but worthwhile. He gives very specific grading instructions and grades primarily on format and organization rather than delivery, though that does play a factor. Very fair and leaves honest feedback on the speeches.
