I really liked Dr. Tye her expectations were clear. A lot of people never attended class and I think this really impacted how they did in the course. I found if you listened well to the comments she made about her slideshows and wrote notes on them there was no way you couldn't get an A. I would recommend her!

She is quite boring but is eager to answer any of your questions. I went into this course expecting an easy mark and that wasn't the case. Her midterm was hard and she marked the papers a little more harshly than expected.

I took this course with a great deal of interest in Material Culture and I left with a greater appreciation for it. Dr. Tye is clear, concise and engaging. She's helpful and always has a smile on her face. Highly recommended!

Dr. Tye was a great professor. Though attending her classes didn't really determine whether you did well or not (I came out with a 79 and only attended a handful of classes), I would suggest going to keep up on the discussions since she includes them on the tests. A really easy person to talk to, and she's genuinely interested in her students.

The class was easy with or without a teacher at all. I found Dr Tye to be boring and dry. That's not to suggest that she is not a nice person, because she seemed fine. Just boring.

Dr. Diane Tye is great! She encourages people to speak up in class, but she does not like to be interrupted. She is considerate and really knows what she is talking about during her lectures. All you have to do is come to class and TAKE NOTES...then you should do okay.

Dr. Tye is amazing! So interesting and helpful, and incredibly knowledgable! She approaches each section the class studies with passion and interest, and it's always great to have a prof who loves what she does! Highly recommended!

great woman. the course was a little boring at times, but the discussions were very interesting. she always wants to hear what you think and, at times, jots down what you say, which shows she really is interested in peoples opinions. excellent!

Tye is a great prof. Her small classes are great. She encourages everyone to get involved, to speak up and don't give their views. I find that she's very friendly and approachable. She'll help you with any issues, questions you have. She is a tough marker though, expects alot from her students. Overall it's a good course. Ps: read the reserves!

I'm not really sure what to say about Mrs. Tye. I thought the course was going to be easy, but it was certainly not. And I also thought chosing distance instead of going to class would make it a lighter load, DEAD WRONG AGAIN. Read the assigned readings.

if you've taken one class with her, you've taken them all, I think 3950 is an almost carbon copy of 1000.. same topics, same assignments. Not extremely well organized, at the end all I knew was that the topic of women in traditional culture was complex..&
