Dr. Ozturk is a great professor! His tests are extremely difficult, but he lays out his curving policy at the beginning of the semester, and he follows that exactly. Best things: Interesting lectures, and he will meet with you outside of class if you reach out. Worst thing: He scheduled a test the day after a wellness day.

Dr. Ozturk is by far the worst professor I have had at NC State in my 4 years. The exams for E304 are absurdly difficult and have lots of errors. All the exams were a lot of "check all that apply." He had to curve the first exam 20 points because the average was so low. He needs to learn how to make better exams that people can interpret.

Dr. Ozturk is an intelligent man, but not a great teacher. The homework wasn't too bad, but the lectures were long. I had to watch them on 2x speed to listen to him speak at a decent pace. His tests sucked because he wasn't very clear on the questions. He needs someone to check his work in the book and on tests for errors because there are lots.

I had to take this class online. The reviews here made this class seem decent, but it is awful. Lectures are twice as long as they should be. Lectures are straight from the book, but the HW and Tests are SO much more difficult. Have a question? Good luck! He never answered any emails. Circuitry is my hobby but this class was near impossible.

Dr. Ozturk is a smart guy and knows his stuff but he is not a good lecturer when comes to teaching. He does a poor job explaining the concepts with little to no examples. The HW is tough and long. He doesn't really the review what is going to be on the exam. However, his tests are bit easy if you do the HW. Overall not very satisfied.

Comment:
Fairly straightforward , although boring lectures. Doesn't cover all the material that should be covered in the class ( current sources and AM radio transmission). He drops the homework questions in large chunks allowing little time to complete. Tests were overall fair , although lacking in partial credit sometimes.

The required textbook is a good study guide but doesn't fully teach the material. Read and learn from Practical Electronics... instead to understand the material. Nice guy, good at explaining things, and knows a lot about the subject but fairly disorganized. Was an hour late to the final exam. Exams are difficult. LOTS of homework problems.

Good professor. Strong emphasis on theory. I did not seek out extra help during office hours so I can't speak up about that, however he was very attentive to questions during lecture. Easy A if you are comfortable with theory.

Worst teacher I have ever had the displeasure of having. All of his tests are super hard and the final was unlike anything we'd ever seen during his class. (The average was a 65). Even though he's a really bad teacher there is an amazing curve that he gives. I ended up with failing grades on all my tests except one which was a D and got a C-.

He was very unorganized and his lectures were boring. He is very lazy and gives no preparation for exams and it shows in scores. This past semester an open book, open note, online test had an average of 71 and the second in class exam's average was a 53. He didnt seem to care about the low averages and did not get things graded in a timely manner.

His homeworks were really helpful in practicing the concepts. If the class doesn't understand something, he tries to explain it in a different way. Sometimes, he'd give pop quizzes in the middle of class and we'd only have 3 minutes but they didn't count for a lot. I found the textbook useful in explaining concepts and equations in a different way.

Ozturk is great! He has a very unique personality and maybe him and I just got along well, but he was a fantastic teacher. He supplies plenty of examples, curves the hell out of the tests, and is receptive outside of class. A little slow on email though

Terrible teacher. He expects you to read his poorly written book and learn on your own. when we asked him to share video lectures of a well known teacher, he refused to share it. He also does not reply emails, he seems like he doesn't care about the class.

I feel he did a decent job teaching everything but opamps, which are very important. I think he calculates final grades on a big curve bc my test grades were a 42, 89, and a 56 and ended up with a B+. He does teach very clear and it is easy to tell he enjoys this stuff, I would recommend him

This guy knows what he is talking about. He's not going to hand feed you the answers. He wants you to understand the material inside and out. If you think about things and are willing to work you'll do fine. If you quit trying you are not going to do well.

Expects you to understand what he speaks about in class due to the book he has written. The book isn't well written. Very passionate about his work, but can't teach. Don't take him if you don't need to.
