Attendance isnt taken but if you miss lecture, youll miss a ton of notes and things that he says. He prints out typed notes and shows them on the board.

To get an A, you need to memorize every note he gives on screen. He ONLY lectures. You also need to remember the key words or ideas in the video he shows you. His tests are massive, but all the answers are discussed in class. His lectures will be boring, but you just have to suffer through. Would be way easier to take online.

graded on only 4 tests that are difficult and notes are strictly lecture. the lectures personally made no sense to me and they jumped around a lot and made no connections to each other

Mono toned, which makes lectures & class very boring. There is not a lot of assignments (3 tests, 1 paper, and attendance). This makes it that much harder to get an A. Tests are very difficult. The 1st one our class took had 80 something multiple choice/True & False questions & 13 short answer questions (3 were extra credit). Be prepared to study!

TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE. This professor has to be the most dull and boring person I have ever met. This class is massively lecture heavy. He is beyond monotone and just rambles on and on. Because of this, it is ridiculously hard to pay attention. If you do take this class, be prepared to take notes on EVERYTHING. You won't pass if you don't.

He is an amazing teacher. You have to take a lot of notes and read the book. Make sure to document his videos as well, they will be on your tests as an extra points.

Dr. Neustadter is very knowledge, but definitely makes you work for your grade. I studied a ridiculous amount to get my A. There are only four tests in the whole class and no study guides. Not going to lie- it is a very difficult course, but I made it out with an A so it is doable. If you show up and try, you shoudn't get lower than a C.

Kind of hard to pay attention to, but as long as you're copying the notes he puts up & go over them a few times, you'll pass. Has videos every week that the short answer questions are over, but they're about main points that you'll get just from being there. Doesn't take attendance. Chances for bonus on every test. Reading book isn't necessary.

The notes that he gives are very helpful. At times you will have to read the book but not the whole chapter just sections in it. The tests are right off the notes. It wasnt too hard just wish i would have got a better grade :/

Going to his class is a dread every day. You can't pay attention to him talking for more than 5 minutes because he just rambles about the same thing. He talks really quiet and is not there to help his students at all. When I asked him for help he wouldn't help me. Don't take this class!!

Had him a few semesters, and I've finally this semester realized what a great professor he is. If you're only taking him for gen soc, he's probably the better option anyways because Shin is hard to understand and easy to stop paying attention to. The biggest thing with Neustadter is to remember the stats he gives in class, they're on the tests.

I thought that his class was very easy. Don't read the book, just go to class and write down what he puts on the screen. He shows lots of video clips that appear on the tests. Class is based only off of 4 tests. His sense of humor is dry but he says some pretty funny things every once in a while.

Best teacher I've had so far. Everything he lectures about is on the test so you don't ever have to read the book to get a good grade. His humor is kinda dry but he says some of the most random crap in class which makes listening worth it. I recommend him for sociology.

This professor has a problem with mumbling in class. Sit towards the front. Though it is not mandatory, do NOT miss class. He shows a lot of irrelevant video clips, often taking "hard evidence" from comedy central's stand up comedians, and then uses them on the test. His lectures are dry, and points will only be from tests, no other homework.

Comment:
This teacher is the rudest I have ever met. His lectures are extremely dry. He shows a lot of video clips that are painfully boring. His study guides are pointless. If you want a good grade in his class you are going to have to go above and beyond to get it. I strongly suggest taking another teacher for Sociology.
