Expects you to basically be a theologist when taking his class and to dedicate your life to it. Rips apart essay and doesn't give substantial feedback to what you did wrong. Would steer clear taking this class.

Wrote a paper that wasn't the best but was expecting a B- at least on it and got an F. He then proceeded to treat my paper like it was written by a 5th grader. Worst professor I've ever had. Very degrading of my paper through feedback. I'd advise not taking him. If you do, read everything, watch the lectures.

Having Dr. Lefler as a teacher during the pandemic and hybrid semester made me appreciate his teaching style so much. He was my most organized and understanding professor, which made my life much easier. His assignments were always clear and he tries to help you with your grades as much as he can. I appreciated his laid back energy too.

Prof. Lefler's class was one of the worst Ive taken at the U so far. His class was extremely difficult, especially considering it isn't a major class. He required a lot of in depth reading, and his lectures were very boring. He does not use powerpoint or use D2L at all, you need to take very detailed notes. for true or false, the quizzes were hard.

I'm on track to get an A in here, but it was not easy. Do not take him if you have a loaded schedule -- He's nice, but his readings require a LOT of time and comprehension & his quizzes are not surefire grade-boosters. It's a very time-consuming class. Oh, and he teaches only by lecture (no ppts or handouts). Get ready to take handwritten notes

This review comes from a truly intelligent, typically straight As type of student: If you have more important things to study for, dont take this class. Its one of those classes that is irritatingly difficult and time consuming. These good reviews were definitely written by theology majors. This a GPA destroyer, and you wont be an exception.

You take a lot of quizes but he drops the lowest one. He does not allow technology in the class but if you are quick then you can keep up taking notes by hand. He does not have slides for his lectures. He requires a lot of reading but at the most I just skimmed, and was able to get through the class fine. Would 100% take any of his classes again.

Dr. Lefler is a really good professor. His class is challenging and makes you think on a different level. Be prepared to work for your grade. There are 8 quizzes, a midterm, a paper, and a final. The midterm was tricky but the final was pretty straight forward. Prepare for quizzes and read everything and you will be fine.

His class was not that bad you take 8 quizzes that are true and false if you pay attention in class they are not that bad. I did not really read any of the books and I expect to have a B+ in the class. He is actually a sweet person I would 100% take him again. The midterm was a little tricky but the Final is not that bad.

A lot of work for a 100-level class, or just a theology course in general. The readings are very philosophical and a bit difficult at times. He talks in circles a lot during the lectures. He asks very specific questions on the weekly reading quizzes. I feel like most of what I learned prior to this class didn't apply to most of what was taught.

I don't think he likes teaching, which is too bad for him, haha. However, he does like if you agree with him and his very specific world views.

There are quizzes once a week. READ EVERYTHING. If you just put forth some effort, read, and participate in class it really is an easy class. Lefler really is a great guy and always willing to help. There are two papers. Just make sure you do what he asks and take a stance.

Very nice and approachable. Just confusing. Doesn't really lay-out things very well, it's tough to see the main focus, as he circles around his lessons. Didn't really learn all that much, just plenty of reading comprehension, which is annoying. Seems somewhat flexible on grading. Lectures are unexciting. Not a bad guy, just not the best teacher.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. Your knowledge of the material will not be reflected in your grade. Gives weekly quizzes that are so specific and you really need to read into them because of the wording. It is almost like he tries to trick you!! Only take if you like a challenge. Besides weekly quizzes, only two papers and a final.

Intelligent guy, but class was extremely hard. Gives you little opportunity to bring your grade up. For a mandatory class, it should not be this hard. My knowledge of the material definitely was not reflected in my grade.

tons of reading, most of which is not understandable until he reviews it in class, so you cant miss the notes. quiz every week that is very tricky even though its t/f. 2 papers in Chicago style, which no one else knows/uses. not accessible via email questions. if I could have taken someone else I would have

While I consent Lefler may be the best of the worst for Theology II, his class is boring and confusing with a relentless amount of readings and pointless essays that serve no purpose except to amuse his own theological education. Furthermore, his quizzes, quite simply, play with your mind. I would never make the mistake of taking him again.

Dr. Lefler is an awesome guy. The class is easy if you do the readings before class or at least pay attention in class and take some notes. quiz everyday but they're easy. only two papers and one final
