Very passionate about his topics. He is very kind and has funny moments, and wants students to succeed. His lecture style is not for everyone, but overall is a great professor.

Comment:
Professor Dahlberg's intro-physics class became progressively more challenging as the semester went on. Nonetheless, he was very supportive in class during lecture and at his weekly problem-solving sessions. If you read the textbook before coming to class, you'll find lectures to be more meaningful. Lastly, the class curve was very generous.

Unless you're really good physics, you need to show up to class. That being said, prof Dahlberg is more used to teaching higher-level physics classes so he was a bit hard to follow. By the end of the semester, however, he started to go a little easier on us. Do as much practice outside of class as you can

He never lectures about what is in the chapters, just jumps right in to doing practice problems all semester. Also he doesn't even fully explain the problem and occasionally doesn't give answer for the problems he just "explained" leaving students confused. Spends more time asking students how to do difficult problems than actually explaining them.

After having other professors in the physics department, I really appreciate Dahlberg. He knew us by name, even in a giant lecture. He genuinely wanted to see his students succeed. His weekly problem sessions were also super helpful. I still thought the material was hard, but if you put in the effort and participate you will learn a lot!

Extra study problems are helpful. Overall, the class emphasizes knowledge of concepts esp. on multiple choice. Interactive lecturer and you can tell he truly wants his students to succeed.

Dr. Dahlberg is a really awesome guy, I was able to understand the material but a lot of people weren't able to understand his teaching style.

Super nice person, gets to lecture early and sits by different people before class to get to know them. Not a great teacher. He has a hard time looking at physics from the mindset of someone new at it. Oversimplifies things and doesn't understand why we can't do the tougher problems. Jumps into practice problems before we have the tools to solve.

Professor Dahlberg is great. The lectures are engaging, and he actively asks for feedback after the exams so that he can help us. He has a southern accent, and when coupled with his sense of humor, class is enjoyable. He holds "problem sessions" one night a week where you can go to get extra help. It is clear that he wants to see students succeed!

Doesn't really teach as much as give you difficult questions during lecture that leave you confused until he solves it for you. Tests aren't like practice tests, gives very little study materials/things to learn in the first place. Difficult to learn unless you're naturally good at physics.

Good professor, makes you learn rather than memorize. Not naturally talented in physics, but he is always more than willing to give help if you put in the work

Dahlberg is the kind of teacher that gets better the longer you have him. He respects students that work hard. His tests were challenging. To do well in the class you must be able to do more than just memorize formulas and homework problems. He requires you to think and learn material. Dahlberg works hard and expects the same from his students.

I had him for a freshman seminar. Although it was not a real class, when he explained stuff, it was clear and he was a very nice guy. I recommend him as a teacher and a good resource for anyone in the Physics Field.

pretty good prof. friendly and engaging with the freshmen honors students, but expected a lot from us. he knew a lot of names by the end of the sequence and showed more concern for our individual success than any other prof i've had. the material (esp his tests) was VERY CHALLENGING. INTENSE.

After the whole class bombs the first exam, you'll figure out what his game is. It ends up being just a problem/solution memorization course, and while this may not foster the best learning of physics, you'll get a decent grade this way.
