He is a good professor and will tell you what you need to learn for each test. I never got above a B- on his tests and I got an A in the class. Going to class is a grade and there are quizzes everyday but they are super easy. You have to participate in experiments or write essays. Do the extra credit

Professor Barnhardt truly cares about his students and he is passionate about what he teaches. However, his lectures can be confusing at times and his exams are hard. You have to read parts of the textbook before every class for iclicker questions that also count for attendance. I enjoyed the class, but it was hard. I found the subject interesting.

The exams are close to impossible. If you are looking for an easy psychology professor, do not take this one. On the opposite, he is very entertaining and interesting to listen to. He gives tons of extra credit which is a huge help! With the extra credit, you can go from a C to B easily.

He has clicker questions every day so his attendance is mandatory and you also get points for showing up to class. Study for those quizzes, show up to class and for sure do the extra credits cause all these will help you to boost your grade up by a letter. His lectures however are useless and reading the book and powerpoints will help you for tests

If you are good at studying and retaining information, then this class won't be that hard. Attendance is required, however the lectures aren't much help for the tests. There are quizzes over small sections in the textbook at the beginning of every class. Lots of extra credit!

Barnhardt was low-key awful. His lectures are too boring he doesn't have much grades and you HAVE to show up to class no matter what. He doesn't curve his test even if "78% of the class missed number 12" like what the?!?!?! he does however give out extra credit each unit! oh and get ready for a lot of corny jokes

He takes attendance for a grade, so you should show up for class. Only uses the book for daily quizzes. His lectures are boring and he doesn't go over much in class, so you will have to study a lot. Tests are hard, but he does give extra credit after every test. Overall, I do not recommend.

I loved Dr. Barnhardt! He's great but you do actually have to read the book and study. You will really learn

It can take him a little bit to get started on a lecture at the beginning of class and he tends to exhaust each topic so you dont always get to cover everything and usually have extra information to learn on your own but what he does cover he covers well. Grade comes from attendance, clicker ?s, and tests, but there is extra credit with each unit.

Dr. Barnhardt was a fun professor and I did enjoy his class. However, his exams are not easy. The book is required, but if you don't read his power points online, it doesn't help on exams. He goes off topic easily in lecture. This class was HARD. Take this course if you know how to study well and if you like reading. His extra credit SAVED me!!!

Prof Barnhardt's lectures are easy to follow and the things he talks about are almost always on the test. Lots of reading and daily clicker quizzes but fairly enjoyable & interesting class-- not too hard either with lots of extra credit.

He was enjoyable! The interest factor of his lectures depends on the topic. Some days feel short, others very long. I had him at 8am, so some days it was really hard for me to get out of bed. I skipped a couple of classes, but he does take attendance and has daily quizzes, so don't forget your iClicker! For tests READ the book and his slide shows!!

So unlike many other reviews I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Barnhardt's class. His lectures are very random and attendance is mandatory (for points along with clicker quizzes) but he's a funny guy (to me at least) and he really does care about his students. Extra credit helps a TON but you do have to read the book as his lectures are kind of everywhere.

If possible try to avoid this professor. Is a good guy but does not teach well at all. During lectures he will pull only one slide up and then talk for the rest of the class without changing it which makes it very difficult to follow. Tests are difficult and reading book is a must to actually learn. Only upside is a lot of extra credit.

Barnhardt gives a lot of extra credit and opportunity for good quiz grades, however, the lectures are terrible in opinion. He goes off topic, the lectures barely help with the exams, and you're on your own. Highly recommend not taking this course if you're a freshman. Get into a grove of studying before you take this class. YOU HAVE TO READ.

He is honestly a great, nice professor that wants you to succeed in his class. He gives extra credit, which is good because his exams are mostly difficult. He has clicker question every day in class that are based on the reading. Reading his book is a must and he provides slides that will help with test. During lecture he tends to go off topic.

Tests can be difficult, but there is extra credit that can boost every test grade up by 10 points. Attendance is mandatory since there are quizzes everyday, but they're easy as long as you read the material before class. Reading the chapters covered on the test is necessary. Wouldn't say it was a super easy A, but it wasn't hard.

Dr. Barnhardt spoke only on one or two slides the whole class period. Some of the times we would stray away from the powerpoint slides and talk about something else. Oh, and dont let him ask if anybody has questions... he will spend about 15 minutes answering one question! Really only showed up because of the quizzes at the beginning of each class.

I was excited to take this class, but lectures are boring and he will stay on a slide that doesn't matter much. The tests were 50 questions multiple choice, but ridiculous and he only gives 100 or more vocabulary words to study, and the majority of words probably have nothing to do with the test. Have to go to class because of the daily quizzes

This class requires a very thorough understanding of the material, so I would recommend this prof for psyc majors b/c it really prepares you for upper level psyc courses. He gets a little off topic in lectures and can be a little boring but is very very helpful and accessible outsides of class
