Comment:
I did not like Jacobson's attitude. She always seemed like she was in a bad mood or talked as if she did not like you. If you put in a lot of work it is possible to get an okay grade but for a general education class it has a lot of work. She made the lectures not too enjoyable and overall I hated going to class. I would not recommend!

I had this class as an incoming freshman and it was very difficult. She would lecture the whole class and never really followed the power point. There are only three or four assignments the whole class, and they are worth a lot of points.

Very busy class, lots of reading. The final and a few other papers is all you're graded on. Tough class, but it wasn't the worst.

Where do i start... If i was not passionate about Anthropology before coming to Susky, she would have made me want to quit. I have had her for my entire time here and its been the greatest displeasure of my life. She is rude, not open minded (Although she preaches she is),non accommodating, and sucks the life out of everything. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I have taken her numerous times now. In this intro course, I routinely received grades that were harsh and nitpicky. Several times, she was simply wrong across many sources. Explaining this to her is pointless but at least she is always available to tell you where you (unfairly) were judged to be factually wrong.

Not helpful whatsoever. Teaches everything but the topic, has terrible office hours. Doesn't expect too much, just expects the irrelevant. Should NOT be teaching, period. If you don't enjoy idiotic professors who don't care about you, find another class.

The class is not terrible, I found her to be terrible. For an Intro class, this was hard, her expectations set you up for failure. She will tell you that its okay not to read every single time, but this is false! She picks on students and gives you pop quizzes!

Very hard greater. Doesn't even talk about class material, only talks about her life and experiences. Actually laughed at me when I went to her office and asked a question for help on a paper.

I have taken Dr. Shari Jacobson for four semesters in a row. She is one of my favourite professors. She is tough, but extremely helpful and smart. She leads great class discussions and clearly summarizes the points. I always feel greatly inspired by her. She is not an easy grader. But you can always go to her for suggestions. She is really nice.

Not very helpful, hard grader on papers, however hard to fail her class. If you have a view that is not parralell to her own you are wrong. I give her a C overall

I really liked her as a teacher, she is a little intimidating at first but she is really easy to talk to and has some great stories! The class I took wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be but that was mainly because of the book that we used. We watched a lot of movies but she hadn't seen any of them before class.

Awful likes to preach about keeping an open mind but if a students has a differing world view that students is wrong or is just trying to be disruptive. Highly illogical, closed minded and rude. Does not like students bring outside knowledge or theories from other discipline in the classroom.

I've had Dr. Jacobson for 2 classes and an independent study. She is extremely helpful and really wants all her students to both understand and succeed. She assigns a lot of reading, so be prepared, but she almost always selects interesting reads. She is brilliant.

She assigns way too much reading for an intro-level class, but other than that it was good. She's had a lot of interesting experiences, and her class gave me a new insight on our culture. Grades very hard though.

I really enjoyed this class, even though there's SO much freakin reading. But she really is a very good teacher who really changed the way I see the world and the people in it. She's really helpful too. I bombed one assignment and she sat down with me and told me exactly how to fix it. I went from a C- to an A. I would recommend her to anyone.
