Comment:
Its time for Dr. Hammer to step aside from his old school style. Dr. Hammer is intelligent and knows a lot of valuable information. But is not great at teaching, disorganized, random and a weird guy. Dr. Hammer also thinks the human body is as fragile as a paper clip. The human body is resilient, time for the program to step in a new direction.

I took this class a couple years ago but he is not a good professor. Dr. Hammer is very smart but makes students do a lot of weird things and makes everybody feel dumb. I would not take another class with him if I had the choice.

He provided absolutely no feedback on anything. Lab exerciese used material not covered in the text and with no instruction on how to use them. Lost points on opinionated discussion questions because he grades according to quality, quantity and content for discussion questions (and again no feedback). Thank you for the text..it saved me!

He is an intelligent guy, but I have never had such a pompous, pretentious teacher in my life. Every exercise test that has ever been created, he some how finds a way to include that he did it a better way or he knows the guy who knows the guy that made the test. Good guy sometimes, full of himself, learned a lot, very unorganized. I'm indifferent

He is a terrible teacher and advisor! If you read the text you will do fine. I would suggest a different profession for this man BUT if you get stuck with him just study and you'll do fine.

Dr. Hammer's really not all that bad. His teaching style is very hard to follow, but if you read the chapters you will be fine. He gives a lot of test answers when reviewing and he makes an effort to know and help his students. He is a nice guy overall, and not impossible!

Hammer-sensei tends to go quickly through quiz questions, but is attempting to find a new way to quiz students at the time I'm writing this, so it will probably be better when other students take this class. He is generally available to students and tries to make the class as fun as he can. All in all, he's a good prof. I would recommend him. =D

Terrible terrible prof. The information brought up in class comes from no where. Everything is so random and confusing. Only two tests the entire year. The book doesnt help at all. Lab is a joke. TAKE HSC 308 EITHER W/ OR BEFORE THIS CLASS! If I hadn't taken 308 I wouldn't have known what on earth Hammer was talking about. Smart guy terrible prof.

He's very smart and knows what he's talking about, however he seems to have problems teaching the information clearly. He's kind of boring so half the time you just sit there and daydream, and the other half you're usually just sitting there going...what is this man talking about???

Had him for 220, not that bad. But 308 was a different story, unless you can read and understand the book on your own I'd think twice on taking this class. There are only 2 exams a midterm thats two weeks before the final. Plan to take lots of notes and study hard because there are no study guides or notes on BB. DONT DO IT

Kanazuchi sensei is an awesome guy. He taught at a very slow pace and included a lot (and I mean A LOT) of class participation. He is basically a really decent guy with a clean sense of humor. Everyone was welcomed equally into the classroom. It was a nice environment in which to make friends and have a lot of good laughs.

I had him for 220, which was easy so I took him for 308 too. BIG mistake. He covers a chaper in 2 days and only lectures on the graphs in the book. You basically have to read the book to understand anything going on in the class. The semester's almost done and we're having our 1st test tomorrow!

Such a nice guy that knows what he's talking about, but doesn't know how to teach! It is the most unorganized professor/class I have ever taken at central! I'd definately advise not to take him if you have the choice.

Dr. Hammer is an excellent professor. I would reccomend taking his Japanese course whole-heartedly. He knows tons of great things about the subject, and goes at a good enough pace, if you actually study, and you need to, but its fun.

Hammer is not a good professor. He rambles on and on about nothing and goes over the graphs and tables only. There are 2 tests in the class (midterm & final)and the 1st is over 13 chapters. This class is absolutely terrible!!!

what a wacky, dorky dude. he is a easy teacher..but is not very knowledgeable about pathophys. he is great for exercise science. he makes it so easy to get an A in 411, just show up. he is a little quirky and odd, but very helpful when you get sick!
