He was alright.. He gives two exams and you are really forced to make sure you understand the material correctly. I found him kind of hard to understand and relate to during lectures, but others really like him.

Great teacher! His lectures are so funny and you will never find yourself bored. The tests are all based on notes from the class lectures, so you must go to class. I highly recommend this class.

Took his SOC 421 class offered one day a week. Super fun and interesting class. No assignments just a midterm and a final. You'll do well as long as you study for those tests.

One of the best professors I've ever had at UNLV. Wish I wasn't graduating so I could take more classes with him! Only professor thats seriously made me consider getting a ph.D in Sociology. Hes knowledgeable, funny, and relates the class material to current events. He makes everyone feel welcome and included and is a straight shooter!

This class was SUPER easy if you went to CLASS! I took him over the summer term (5 weeks) and I didn't miss one class and was only late for one class. There are only two exams so you have no room to mess up. Take extremely good notes and record his lectures if you can't write fast. I relied more on his lectures than the book. He's really funny!

I loved taking this class. He emphasizes all his points with stories, which generally are pretty humerus. There are only three tests, which were 30 m.c. questions and 2 short answer questions. Usually he gives you three options of what the short answer may be, and he picks two. Loved him as a professor, I would def take him again.

He's one of the most helpful instructors I have ever had. I honestly read nothing (I did take a PSC theory course previously and had read some of the material, so it was review) and got an A. He illustrates what he needs and expects from you, if you do poorly it is because you have not listened to him. Must attend lectures and take GREAT notes.

Prior to taking his class, I wasn't all that interested in Sociology and I'm now considering a Sociology minor. He uses fun, contemporary examples in order to relate the material to kids that aren't familiar with it. He basically rules. Going to lecture is mandatory for a good grade, but you won't dislike going to his class.

SOC 422 is much more difficult than SOC 421 because there's more schools of theories. I thought this class was a little difficult for that reason but it's easy to study for as long as you're looking at your notes every week. There's 1 midterm & final and it's easy to get an A or a B, it's going to take a little more work with this class

I like Dr. Dickens a lot. He make classical theory so much easier to understand. He's an easy professor if you take notes. He gives a midterm & a final and gives a study guide a week or two before the exam. Anyone can pass this class with an A or B if they try.

There's a midterm & a final. He gives a study guide & there's a review session the week before exam. This is an easy class to get an A in if you study for the exam, do the readings, & take notes. Dr. Dickens make classical theory easier to understand. I wouldn't take this class with any other teacher.

Dr. Dickens is one of the best professors I've ever taken. I would take him for every class if I could. His class is taught the way college should be taught. He doesn't care if you come to class but take good notes so that when he gives you the study guide; you won't have to re-read anything over. He gives 1 midterm & final and you need a blue book
